Slo, hope you are still above water. My mom and I actually did go shopping today at Southlake Mall. It was pouring. The viaduct was flooded pretty good by the Walmart on 30/41 so I went home through the country (Crown Point) and believe it or not, the ones south were nearly dry. I have a soccer game Saturday at Lake of the Four Seasons. Hope it's dry enough by then. I don't want to play in the mud any more that I want my kids to. They have practice tomorrow and games Sat. morning. YUK for mud!!
DMM-glad to hear you got the box. Hope your kids enjoy them.
Gonna browse around here a bit. I'll check in later and see if anyone is up.

Slo & Rose,
You are the first to comment on my siggy. :) Yes, they are from Whispering Canyon! The Cast Members who work there are tremendous fun! Everything you teach your children NOT to do at a restaurant, THEY encourage them to do. It's hysterical! :) We had about 19 ketchup bottles when we asked for some ... and how can you turn down the sweet faces of the kids who bring them all? ... and when the next call came, 2 tables over, we sprinted there with all of 'em in our arms. They looked less than pleased. :)

That is so awesome!! :teeth:
It makes me look forward to trying this restaurant even more!!! :goodvibes
When I made my ADR for this place, the cast member told me about this Ketchup bit - I think it's hysterical!!!! Like I said before, my little Katie loves ketchup  and I'm hoping to get a ton of bottles on our table for me to take a picture of her with them :teeth:

Do you have any more tips on how to make the most fun out of this restaurant?

Good Thursday morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

I can officially say today............

I leave for Florida next week!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

As you can see too, I'm not flooded - thank God!!!! If we would have gotten anymore heavy rain, you would have probably seen me on the news

jedi_librarian - Kevin went past the park where Steph's soccer game was, and can you believe they didn't cancel - the kids were out there :sad2: Only 7 from the team showed up - I just can't believe it :sad2: Why would they make these kids play in that awful wet park - it's just wrong!!!!

paintnolish - The kids like to pile in bed with us too ::yes:: I finally told them they could lay on the floor next to the bed and I think they like that better - it's like a campout!!! :teeth:

Tiggerrn2 - You went shopping in that awful weather?!?! You are brave!!! The area you are talking about by WalMart always floods very easily - it's doesn't surprise me at all about it being flooded yesterday and maybe still today. Crown Point is where I am going for my Real Estate pictures - it's a nice town ::yes::

Well, I gotta run and start getting ready for work - have a good day today!!

morning all

I can't believe all this rain we have been having. I was looking foward to fall weather but this damp weather is a bit much. I have this inner chill I can't seem to get rid of.

Slo I see you are going to Whispering Canyon we loved it. My mother in law asked for Ketsup and they only gave us one. :confused3 If you are celebrating a birthday let them know they will make a huge deal out of it and tell everyone. They also brought out the old horse on the sticks and the kids got to run around in like a parade and got pony express certificates when it was done. We loved the all you can eat platter. One of the few places we are planning to return to on our next trip.

I hope everyone else is dry, I was watching the news and seen some of the areas that got flooded badly.

I have to get ready for work have a good day all.

Good morning!

Finally, seeing some :sunny: today!

Sandy (SLO)...congratulations on passing your test!!! :cool1:
I saw pix of Indiana on tv the other day..I'm happy to hear things have settled down a bit...

MAC...have you spoken to your son? Hope he got to where he needed to be safely.

NITEOWL...I am sure you are relieved that everyone is home...take care of *you* now...

HERSEY...we get some of those lovely mushrooms when it rains too much...yuk...

Everyone else... :wave2: have a good day today!

Hey, what is that huge round bright orb in the sky? :sunny:

Slo: I am so glad you stayed above water. My heart goes out to those in Highland and Griffith. That Little Calumet river is a pain in the ****. I heard some house floated right off their foundations and right down the river. :sad2:

On the upside, congratulations on being one week out from vacation. We'll try to keep it dry around here while you're away!

Well, our neighbor's crick flooded and his yard was full of water, but it never made it up to his house, thankfully. Last year at this time, I was worried that the wells would dry up and this year, I'm wondering where is all the water going to go? Sheesh!

I know Bunchkin wasn't feeling good on Sunday at the mini meet! She said he had a bad head cold and she had that monitor thing on again. She was trying really hard to be "social", but I could tell she wanted to be at home in bed...poor kid!

Take care everyone!

This gets my vote for favorite baby costume for Halloween.

037053

I love it! :goodvibes :rotfl:

Leigh that costume is so cute!!

Its the first day in a long time that I can look out my window and not think it is night! Hooray for that because I had to get up earlier than normal and will be doing this consistently for a couple months. No big deal-it just takes some adjusting to and it being light out definitely helps my progress!

Slo I'm so glad to hear that your house didn't get flooded. That was pretty scary I'd imagine. I can't believe it is so wet here this year when last year we were pleading for rain! Congrats on being 1 week out for your trip to the world!!

to everyone: hi!

Hi all Happy Thursday! :sunny: :sunny:
The sun is out, yea! :yay:
Had a busy day today so far. Went shopping at Target today for the usual stuff and some fall/winter clothes for Chrissy.
Got a call from Matthew's Gifted program teacher about the curriculum for hte gifted program at school this yr. I didn't go to the gifted curriculum night Monday night- wanted to watch Path To 911(got too involved with hte movie ;) ).But his gifted teacher was very nice to call me about hte curriculum info. I went to the same meeting last yr, for hte gifted program.
I also had to schedule Chrissy for a physical at her ped's office. she needs another physical for right before she has her heart MRI. I just found this out yesterday, that she needs another physical done for this test, b/c she is going under general anesthesia, this is what Children's Memeorial hosp wants  .

Ok ,gotta run. Hope to check in later if I can.
Hi to everyone

Good Morning All :sunny:

It was nice to see the sun yesterday.

slo---I ma glad the water didn't get near you, that must have been scary.

Rosemarie---I love how they have the same meeting every year, after so many years I could give the meeting. We missed Stacey's open house also because of our little trip on Tuesday. I watched that movie also, when I started watching it on Sunday I didn't realize it was in 2 parts.

Sk8Leigh---that picture made me smile :)

macraven---did your son make it home?

Donna---I'll be taking care of "me" in 11 days

I tried to catch up but I have to be at work in about 40 minutes, so I'll be back later :teeth:

Everyone have a good day.

TGIF everyone!!!!

Last night we took the girls to buy stickers to put in their sticker books on the airplane. I have one things to say about stickers..........
Those things are expensive!!!!!!!
I let each of them pick out 10 a piece and at $1.25 a piece, that adds up!!! I told them they could have 5 on the way there and 5 on the way home - they seemed okay with that!!

Today I am going for my real estate pictures because I cancelled the other day due to the awful rain we had. The streets around me were closing due to flooding, and I was afraid I wouldn't get home for Steph to get off the bus. I'm so glad with my decision. :)

Then tonight, my in-laws are coming over for dinner because they are leaving tomorrow for Florida (for those that don't know or don't remember, we stay wth them the first couple of days in the Clearwater area before we head off to WDW), and it's my FIL's B-day tomorrow. :)

While we are having dinner, Steph has soccer practice, so she will have to eat later (I haven't shared that with her yet  ) So, another busy day!!

Disneynut71 - Thanks for the more info on Whispering Canyon. I will be sure to tell our server how much Katie loves ketchup, and hopefully they will make a huge deal over it :teeth:

DonnaW - Those pictures you saw don't show the half of the damage :sad2: We took a drive to Highland yesterday (approx. 10 minutes away from my house) and it's horrible. I was so sad seeing all the garbage in front of people's houses due to the flooding. Kevin's friends co-worker had 4 feet of water in his house :guilty: We stopped there yesterday, and it was so sad - they lost everything!!!!!

SamIAm21 - Thanks for keeping it dry here for when I'm gone :teeth: We do have a contingency plan though in case that doesn't happen - we've never felt the need to have one of those before :sad2:
*I talked to Bunchkin the other day, and she is super busy too. Her and I are really going to enjoy getting away from our busyness when we go on vacation. :teeth:

Sk8Leigh - That costume is cute!!!

disneymama73 & latharia & NiteOwl - Hi there!! :wave2:

I have to take Stephanie to do this too ::yes::
I think alot of her shirts are all to short for her this year. She hates trying on clothes (I did too at that age) so we only do a couple at a time

Well, I have to go get Steph up for school - have a good day everyone!!

It's not my favorite pic of me, but I love fall and it captures my first day of "fall" fun :rotfl:

Hello everyone!

I have ANOTHER question for you all (don't you just love how I come here full of questions but no answers? :rotfl2: :lmao: )

My 9 year old is in Webelos Cub Scout and somehow (remind me to NOT open mouth when asking questions) I am in charge of taking care of 2 meetings to help with the Fitness Activity Badge so they can earn their Webelos badge.

Anyone familiar with it? To me as I read it, it's more a nutrition/healthy eating/lifestyle badge more than what I think of when I think "fitness" (i.e. exercise).

There is a place called FieldTripFactory that is great and I see Meijers offers "A Healthy Me!" field trip which fits perfectly for this activity badge. I haven't booked it yet. I'm also looking into other ideas, too. The thing that came to mind was a nutritionist. I did call Delnor to see if they gave tours of their fitness center, have a personal trainer talk, etc... but no call back.

Anyone have suggestions for the Geneva, Batavia, St. Charles area (or close to) that would help us with this?

Hi all! Happy Friday!

This is a shameless plug to mention that I have posted days 1 and 2 in total with pictures on my trip report! The link is in my siggie.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend

Mindy Finally had time to read your trip report :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I'm so glad you received the better room. I love your pic's Your mom and you are soo cute. You make me want to go back rain or no rain.
