Good Morning

Thinking about yesterday, a dark and gloomy day fitting for day. Then rain as though tears from heaven. I spent the morning remembering the events 5 years ago, Where I was and what I was doing at that very moment as though it was yesterday.

A friend of mine gave birth to her first child, a boy. I thought what a honor to be born on a day so powerful. Proof that we may have been down but were not out. If anything it has made us all stronger. So welcome to the world Andrew.

Other then that last night Animal Planet had a tribute to Steve Irwin. My son knew the time and channel and would not let anyone turn the channel (eventhough sister wanted to watch cartoons) It was very interesting they were showing the Crocs he worked with at the zoo and really showed Steve in action. I think we are still in a bit of shock that he is really gone.

Besides working all day yesterday that's about it. I hope everyone is doing fine and have a wonderful day.

good morning chicagoland homies....... :sunny:

a quick drive by :moped:
going to work and have to get ready to be there by 7:20.

catch you later when the school bell rings...... :teacher:

I"m hitching a ride too mac :moped:

Just thought I'd stop in with my morning tea, and catch up... and stopped, adding prayers, and peace to all - very intense couple of days - May we be surrounded by His love and peace, the peace - much needed peace... :wizard: :wizard: and lots of pixie dust!!

as well as remembering the horror and devastation that will be 9/11 - I also sit and remember Pearl Harbor, both World Wars, the Civil War, the Revolutionary war... and of course those that are serving our country now... esp my niece who is in Afghan, as a surgical nurse... God be with the families, and the troops...

off to work, may I blend into the woodwork, and make no blunders. May the kids be the priority!! (for the 9/11 tributes were hard for them, as it happened 5 years ago, many were just in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade - now in 6-8th)

Morning all :grouphug:

Slo - I'm sure you'll do great... but extra :wizard: for you

Mac - I totally misunderstood your post...I thought you had found your son when you said his flight was delayed...have you spoke to him yet?????

Everyone else - Hi there

Carrie and Amy- glad to hear both Eric and Tim are doing better. Continued prayers and PD for them. :grouphug: :wizard:

Macraven- hope you have a good day at work today. Hope you hear from your dson very soon :grouphug: :wizard:

Yes ::yes:: My uncle is in the US Army. He served in Iraq for about 7 months from mid-2003 til early 2004. My dh's coworker did 2 tours of duty in Iraq, with the US Army.

Have a good day everyone :)

Thanks everyone for all your well wishes, good lucks, and PD :wizard: It worked!!! :woohoo: :yay:

NiteOwl - Please check in when you bring Eric home to let us know how he and Tim are doing. I'm still keeping them, and all of you, in my thoughts and prayers.

Tiggerrnn - Whenever you are ready to move, let me know - I'll be happy to help :teeth:

Kim - You are right, we are family!!! :grouphug:

Disneynut - I"m still in shock about Steve Irwin too. The world lost a wonderful man when he died :guilty:

mac - Did you ever hear about or from your son? I'm still keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Rosemarie - I got my results immediately, but they are only pass or fail, no percentage (which is a bummer, I really wanted to know the percentage). I guess a percentage doesn't matter, as long as you pass :teeth:

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well everyone - I"m going to go rest my brain :faint:
Have a good rest of the day everyone!!!

Congrats, Sandy!!! :cool1: :cheer2:  :yay: :yay: :dancer: party: party: :jumping1: :jumping1: :mickeyjum :donald: :tigger:

I knew you could do it! And you can celebrate at the World! :mickeyjum :goofy:

When I took my nursing boards, back in 1990 and 1991, we had the paper written tests then, 2 days of 8 hrs each(16 hrs). Very grueling at hte time  and didn't find out results until 6 weeks later! Now they do the computer tests for the boards and you find out right away.

So happy for you, Sandy!!!

Thanks Rosemarie!!!!! :goodvibes

I am really looking forward to going to Florida w/o having to worry about that test ::yes:: :thumbsup2

Mac -- I hope everything is fine with your son now.

Slo -- Congratulations! :cheer2:

Everyone else -- Hello :wave2:

Anyone here deal with scoliosis?

My DD is being sent to a specialist for it. It's not totally unexpected, my DH does have it but by the time they realized there was a problem for him, it was too late for them to do anything. He was told he could wear a brace but it wouldn't really make much difference. Since it wasn't affecting his lungs/heart, etc... didn't do anything about it.

Last year the doctor noticed her back was a little curved & we were to go back every summer. We finally made it back today to take care of that & get a sports physical because she wants to try out for cheerleading (if we every found out any information. :rotfl2: ). It has gotten worse so he is now sending us off to a specialist.

I'm just hoping we can stop it before it gets to far. I'm hoping we caught it early enough. Although I've read different things about when they will choose to treat it & when they will just let it go.

The bummer is she's a gymnast and I hope it doesn't affect that. Her doctor seems to think she should be able to continue in her sports. I hope so. She's working hard so she can eventually be on the HS gymnastics team.

Congrats Sandy. We all knew you'd do it!! party:
Mac, has your son turned up yet?
Just checking in. Doesn't look like too much going on here. DMM is busy on her other sites. Sure miss her here. She really put the pep in the place.
Becky, hope you get good news for your DD.
Alright, all. Going to bed.
Shopping with mom tomorrow. Kids really need clothes now that I cleaned out all their old stuff. I'm getting a few things for myself as well.

Slo- :woohoo: Congrats on your test!
Latharia-Hi!
Another dreary day! Too much rain. I got caught in a down pour, going from store to store, trying to find shoes for dd's dance class. Then I had class with my possbily crazy teacher. He is actually a very intelligent and interesting man. Let's just see how he grades things, since his grading is "entirely subjective and possibly illegal"! :faint: Worrisome, since all he will be grading is papers!
I plan on going wit ha friend to Great America on Sat. I know a few of you have season passes. Anyone plan on going?

Good very wet Wednesday morning!! :umbrella:

Thanks for the congrats everyone!!!! :goodvibes

Today I have an appointment with a photographer to get my photo taken for the Real Estate company I'm going to be working for. By the time I come back from Florida I should be able to get my new business cards real quick since the photos will be processed :thumbsup2 '

Becky - Sending lot so of PD for you DD :wizard: :wizard: My Dad has scoliosis and is just like your DH. It was discovered to late to do anything about. My friend has a niece who has scoliosis, and she had a operation done where a metal rode was put on her spine to help straighten it or for it to not get worse (I can't remember which one). I hope your specialist is able to answer all your questions and help put your mind at ease. Keep us posted!!!!

Mac - Did you find your son? I sure hope so :wizard: Please let us know.

Tiggerrn2 - Have fun shopping today!!!! :)

paintnolish - I had a couple of crazy profs in the past and it does make for a very interesting year  Good luck!!! :wizard:

Well, I gotta run and make Ms. Stephanie some breakfast before school. Have a good day today everyone!!!

Hey everyone

CONGRATS Sandy!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Becky - A friend of mine has a daughter with scoliosis - her dd wore a back brace for quite a long time. It sounds as if it's pretty minor for your dd? Good luck & pd

Mac - everyone ok???

Today I'm going to attempt to start packing. Last night was my first PTO meeting as prez & I didn't need any prompting to remember the whole Roberts Rules ! hahahah So now that it's over for the month I need to light a fire on the packing. Of course I also have to finish painting the basement AND get to the gym. Geesh....

Have a great day all :wave2:

Good morning all! Sorry I've been away for so long. The trip was fabulous but came and went too quickly. Now I'm swamped with work and trying to reconnect the strings that came loose while I was gone!

Congrats on the test Slo! I knew you could do it! Now you can take some much needed r&r at the World!

Mac I hope that you find your son soon. Its no fun being juggled around the airports all the time.

Carrie-p&pd for you and Amy. I'm so sorry that this happened

to all chicago-hi!
sorry for the quick shout out, but I have to get to work. I wish it would stop raining though. It rained most of the night here and the thunder was so loud it woke me up a couple times. I hate that. Now everything is flooded and it is still raining. SOmetimes I hate walking to work.
I've started my trip report over on the trip reports thread. A link to it is in my siggie. I'm still on day 1 but am trying to be detailed, so please bear with me if it takes a long time!!

Yeah, what's up with the 3 gray and dreary days in a row? Makes me feel like I'm getting up painfully early! LOL!
