Happy Birthday to Katie!
:cheer2:  :dance3: party: :jumping1:
And many more! :teeth:

Slo The Caribu is right next to the highway on the main drag. Its set kind of off the street so its a little hidden. Theres a guitar store nearby, and a New Balance store just popped up next door. The Old Time Pottery was supposed to go up around there too, but Caribu is in the strip on the other side of the Shell.

I'll bet DBF could finish the Ethel. He IS a skinny little Chinese guy, but he eats like a horse. Its scary. We go to kelseys in merrilville and he always gets this 36 ounce porterhouse steak. :earseek: And finishes it!

Leigh thats pretty cool. The closest I usually get to those events is TV anymore. But it would be great to watch in person

Paint, wow you leave tomorrow? Have a great trip! I'd be the person freaking out if she hadn't packed yet, but to each their own! I know you'll have a fabulous trip. Its WDW, how could you go wrong?

Hello to all my Chicago friends!

Oh your friendly reminder: I have a total of 14 signed up for Wicked, November 4th at 2pm. Keep those signups coming!!!

Hey Y'all!!! :cool1: :teeth:

What a beautiful day!!! :sunny:

Happy Birthday Katie!!

Donna Sorry to hear about spilling your favorite perfume!! Lauren just did this with her fav. too. A bottle of American Girl perfume.
I just wore Clinique Happy Heart yesterday!!

paint I CAN NOT believe you have to still pack!!! Ok, address please....I'll be over with my packing expertise in minutes!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:
We could plan a R' Place meet for those that are interseted. Just have to pick a time, as in breakfast, lunch or dinner!!! :thumbsup2

crissup I've never had a burger from R' Place let alone one covered in chili. But it does sound good!! :goodvibes
I can't believe the Ethel has bean sprouts!!!! :rotfl: Like I guess they throw in just a tad of healthy stuff to off set the surge of cholesterol!!! :teeth:

For all of you going shopping....HAVE FUN!!! :yay: Shopping is my favortie sport!!! ::yes::
I think we will get out to look at flooring today.

Have a great day everyone!!!!
 :sunny:

Well, I am almost done packing. I've still got 16 1/2 hrs until we have to leave for the airport. That is plenty of time! I've got the kids done, but i need to run out to Orland. Ha. Run out to Orland on a Sun afternoon. That is a joke! We also have to go to a bridal shower this afternoon. I am bringing Better than S3X cake. Hey, that is what I am going to bring to Bunchkin's game meet!
As for R Place, I can meet anytime during the day. Maybe after the kids are in school? Evenings, at least weekdays, are shot for me.
Slo- Hope the bday party is great. My dd's was Dora for her 4th.
Princess Mindy- Am I making you and Bunchkin nervous? I've still got plenty of time. What can I say. I live life on the edge!
Antss- I am a fast forwarder, too. If a movie is too boring, I just fast forward through what looks like unimportant stuff, just to find out the end. I did that with "Fun with Dick and Jane". It was not so "fun".
Donna- I like Happy, too. Are you sick of the smell, yet?
Rmom- You are so lucky!
Tigger and Antss- I am hoping the backpacks go on sale next week, as most kids will have started back. We are looking for a POTC one in WDW. The one in TDS is okay, but I'd like to find ds a cooler one. DD got a pretty cute Tink one from Kohls.

:woohoo: Leaving Mon morning! We've got a 7:50 flight, so we have to get up pretty early to get to Midway. The kids will probably sleep on the flight. We got the rest of the stuff we needed today, and I am ready to start packing. I am frightening some of you planners, aren't I?

Bunchkin and SamIAm- Here is another area complaint. I went to the WalMart on Larkin. I know it is a junky one, but I was too lazy to drive to a further one. What a zoo! However, since I was so close to White Castle, I just had to stop. There aren't any where I used to live and I had not eaten there in years. It was so good!
DMM- I used to miss my family terribly when they left, and I only lived two hours away. Now that I see them everyday though, Idon't know what I was thinking!

Anyone know when backpacks will be on sale at TDS?

Paintnolish: WalMart in Orland is really just as awful in my opinion. They are supposed to build one somewhere on LaGrange in Mokena, but I'm not sure where exactly?? That will probably be a much nicer one than the other two choices. Also, if you ever really want Whities again, just jump on the Xway, to LaGrange, and get them at 191st and LaGrange there. That's where I go for my Whitie-cravings!

So, tell me about this S3X cake... sounds good!

Hi Bunchkin and everyone too. Just stopping in to catch up on my reading. Going to a Joliet Jackhammers game tonight They are playing the Gary team. Should be fun. What a great evening for a ballgame!! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Today's weather certainly makes up for yesterday! Gotta love it!

Paintnolish, if I haven't missed you already, I hope you have a wonderful time in WDW! And Bunchkin, you are getting so close! Hey, on August 17th, we were at our 100 day mark, so now I'm doing the double digit dance!!

Bunchkin I hope you got to go looking for your flooring. I loved the planning part of my flooring project just hated the inbetween.

It's a little quiet around here. Everyone must be out enjoying the day.

:bday: Katie.
Paintnolish, have a great time and safe trip. I wish I were going along.
It was a beautiful day at the water park. Kids had a grand time!!
Slo, the park is very clean (the main changing area did smell a bit today, but usually doesn't). The little kids can ride most all the slides, even the body slides if they're brave enough. You can get a life vest for free there to borrow. You can't bring any personal floatation stuff in, though. There is a kids water fun section where my kids spent most of the day. A big bucket of water dumps over on them every minute or so, two body slides, lots of climbing nets and things to spray. Last year we went after Indiana kids were back in school (big discount) and had the park nearly to ourselves. You can bring a picnic lunch if you want or buy. Towards the end of summer, they run out of a lot of food choices though.
We're off to Brookfield Zoo tomorrow. Our last two trips planned there fell through on account of weather. Hope it holds this time. I'll check back here later. Kinda' quiet right now.
Hope everyone is having a great day!!

paintnolish What is in that cake?? I don't know if we want an R rated cake with the kids around. :rotfl: :thumbsup2
How long will you be at WDW? Have a great time!!!!! :cool1: :yay:

I don't like either of those Walmarts very much. But I think the one in Joliet worse.

Hersey We did go look at some hardwood flooring. And we found a few I liked. But we needed to get home, my foot was killing me!! :(
We also went and picked up a catering menu from the place we are getting food from for DH & DD's b-day party. We are having a combo party for the both of them.

SamIAm I didn't know they were going to build a new Walmart in Mokena. :confused3 I woder if it has even been passed by the city yet? I know the one in New Lenox got canned and so did the one in Lockport!

Forgot to say, tried TDS in Merriville. Absolutely nothing on sale. No backpacks or lunchbags, not any T-shirts. Nothing good. A few PJpals in small sizes (up to 3/4T) some character shorts. Worse of all for my DD, they were already out of the Tink backpacks, and after 3 years of Ariel, she wanted Tink this year. I'll have to try Orland. Had the 20% off for Visa cardholders and was just going to use that. Now I'll have to try elsewhere. Or wait another week and see what happens then.
Hi Bunchkin. Thanks. We did have fun. Love to see the kids laugh.

One other thing, about Walmart. They are building a SuperWalmart at the Monee/Manhattan exit off I57. Supposed to start soon. Sure hope this one is nicer than the Walmart in Matteson. It may put that one out. That one is always dirty and overcrowded in the isles with boxes and junk. I prefer Target for that reason, even though Walmart is cheaper on so many things.

Bunchkin rest your feet, How is your heart rhythm doing by the way?

I hope Paint is finally done packing. I wish I was going to disney too. I need a vacation again.

Hi, everyone

Just wanted to pop by and say hi. I hope everyone's doing well. I have to be honest and say I haven't been feeling well :guilty: Just going through a rough patch right now.

I wanted to mention though (I meant to last week) that I'm interested in a crop too. So count me in.

Hi all-
Went to the Renfair today in Bristol WI. Had a great time!! Went on the renfare website this morning and noticed it was Scout Day there this weekend. Was able to get all 4 of us in at a discount price, discounted tickets if your child is in scouts. So we had ds wear his Cubscout shirt and DD wear her Brownie vest!
So glad I checked that website! I had no idea they did a scout day there, it is an unofficial scout activity, so not officially sponsored by Boy scouts, Cub scouts or Girl Scouts. Not sure if that makes sense. ;) . I am very tired right now. Too much walking up and down hills and walking on some gravel. My left foot is hurting now. Saw some of these pirate: ,most of these princess: and some of these :joker:. I was able to see an old friend from high school. she works in one of the hat shops there. I see her there every so many yrs b/c we only go there every few yrs. She was able to take a 5 -10 min break so we got to chat and catch up with each other for a little bit. :goodvibes
The rest of the renfaire was good. I did notice since the last time I was there(2 yrs ago), that they have all these kiddie rides, but now they upped the price of hte rides :guilty: . The rides are not part of hte admission price to the faire. The rides used to be $2 each child. Now it is $3 or $4 each child. We tried to stay away from the rides even tho Chrissy was not too happy about that. We also noticed that the traveling musicians have a hat or can to collect money, like a street musician. I have not seen this before at hte renfair, so I thought it odd they are wanting a tip of some sort :confused3 .
I guess dh and I are not liking the renfair is wanting money for this and that. I remembered 5 yrs ago, it was not like this :sad2: . Oh well. Tho it was well worth going to see my old HS friend.

Jedi- Hope you are feeling better :grouphug:

Slo- How was Katie's b-day party?

Paintnolish- Have a great trip to the World!!

Ok, going to bed soon. Goodnight all.

Rosemarie

Hi everyone! :wave2: Thanks for all the well wishes for my trip! I am just about done packing. The kids are asleep and I am just gathering up the odds and ends stuff. We have to leave by 4:45 am tomorrow. Yikes. Hopefully dd will fall back asleep, bc that girl needs her beauty sleep or watch out! We are going to POP first and do some swimming, and then over to DTD for dinner and shopping. Then, we are off to MGM on Tues. We've then got 2 days in Epcot and in MK, and one day in AK, too. I have been reading some horror stories about the crowds, so I am a little worried. However, we're still going to be in WDW! What's better than that?!? :woohoo:
Bunchkin and SamIam- The cake is a chcoclate cake mix (I throw in choc chips, too) that you bake according to the box. After it comes out, you poke alot of holes all over the top, using the handle of a wooden spoon. Then pour over sweetened condensed milk, then caramel, top with Cool Whip, then top that with toffee pieces. Store in fridge. It is so good, but you need to have a massive sweet tooth for this one! Thankfully, I have one!
Well, I suppose I should try to go to sleep. Have a great week and I'll be happy to discuss all the details when I get back!
Woohoo! I'm going to Disney World! :earsboy:
Good night everyone!

Paint I'm glad you're almost done packing. Cutting it a little close, but seems like everything will work out ok. Have a great time and don't forget to tell us all about it when you get back!! Oh and that cake sounds AMAZING. Can't wait to try it at the game meet. Did we get the date for that one? So many pages...

Hi Jedi! Sorry to feel you're not feeling well. Take care of yourself and feel better soon. Heres some pixie dust for you :wizard: :wizard:

Tiggern glad you had a wonderful time at the waterpark!

Rose too cool you went to the ren fair. I love going to those. I've gone every year since I was little, but this year it looks like I'm going to miss it. :sad2: But we may be able to get back to Ohio for theirs-thats the one I grew up on and its so much bigger than Bristol! So much fun to be had. When I had long hair I'd get my hair braided there in some intricate and beautiful designs. Well, maybe in a year it will grow back-if I don't get mad at my hair and hack it all off again! :rotfl:

Scrappinmom: Thanks so much for the report on Wicked! I think we're definitely going to shoot for those seats when I work on getting that group rate.

Oh BTW- Still need 6 beautiful persons to say they'll come to Wicked (November 4th-2pm)so we can get those discounts! If the group tickets are 25, that means a savings of about 7$ per ticket is to be had!
Ok shameless plug over

What did I do today? Oh yeah. Went to Cracker Barrel for lunch which was just awful. Then we went to a fleamarket and found a couple hidden treasures. I love it when that happens! Then it was off to Michigan City and Mount Baldy where we hung out for a while and watched some paragliders float by and just enjoy the breeze. We did a little shopping and came back just in time for the sunset over the Chicago skyline. Just breathtaking. Today was the perfect day for this. I wish there were more days like today.

Good Monday morning everyone!!!! :surfweb:

Thanks to everyone for Katie's Happy Birthday wishes - I appreciate it!!! :grouphug: Her party was wonderful!!! She was so excited to be the center of attention, and to have so many presents to open. Watching her made so happy :) and a little sad :guilty: at the same time. Granted she will always be "my baby", but she's not a baby anymore :sad2: I wish I could make time go a little slower :hourglass .

Today I am only working until 2pm since Katie's real birthday is today. I'm not sure what we are going to do, but I would like to do something. So, I'm going to play the day by ear.
