Chicago Area DIS meet DEC 7th!

Ok, so I'm SOOO excited to go to this!

My name is Julia and I went to the Anniversary presentation at Doorway this past summer in the hopes of landing a trip. I was so bummed that all around me people won door prizes and the trip went to a family that had been to WDW 6 times already! I mean, I was happy for them- but sad too. And the incentives they had BLEW ME AWAY! I was also bummed because I hadn't had any idea that they would have a play room and I could've brought my DD!

I hope they have something good this time incentive-wise, I'm making DH come w/me. I got an email the other day w/ 5-nt stay w/minimum purchase of 220 pts.

He's resisting but I'm trying to lure him w/taking the kids to Rainforest Cafe afterwards and the Lego Discovery Center.

Yay! A touch of Disney Magic at the beginning of a cold Illinois winter!

I would LOVE to meet with the Chicagoland DISers. However, I, too, will be at WDW December 7th through December 12th.

Let me know when you do the next one. I will be there if my schedule allows.

Enjoy yourselves!

Maybe!!! I know a few ofyou from the Chicago thread or the BSC (HI, Julez!). Looking forward to seeing more of you! My last meet was to see "Cars", so that was a while ago, huh?

Does anyone have any ideas where to get together for lunch/dinner? Maybe some time inbetween would be better if there is going to be a large crowd.

When I went to the "Cars" meet, we ate in the food court. Not fancy, I know, but that way everyone was able to get up and move around and not worry about being too loud. You know what a wild bunch us Disers are!

I don't think Woodfield has a food court.

Geef, what about checking out the place we ate at last time. It was nice because we had that whole room to ourselves. For some reason I'm drawing a blank on the name of the restaurant. Maybe we could check into that again.

And no Woodfield doesn't have a food court, just different restaurants all around the mall.

Can't wait to see everyone in 3 weeks.

:cool1: That would be Gino's East, yeah that was a lot of fun there

Oh, yeah! I forgot! When I am with the kids, they make me go to Rainforest. When I am not, make dh go to Cheesecake Factory!:)

I would love to join everyone again, but that day is my families xmas at my fathers in western Ill.

I hope everyone has a great time, I will be thinking about everyone!!!

Is anyone going to the (Chicago) "Magnificent Mile Lights Festival" this Sat?:santa:

My family plans to be there in time to see the Cheetah Girls at 12:30. That shouldn't be too crazy (how many screaming kids can you fit into a city street?!?) :scared1: :scared:

If your going, dress Warm and have fun!

Just to throw some ideas out there:

There is a Cheesecake Factory and Rainforest Cafe in the mall. There's also a Stir Crazy, Red Robin and Ruby Tuesdays. Directly outside of the mall there's Chevy's, Unos and a Fridays. And of course there are dozens of restaurants when you get out of the mall area.

I guess it depends on how many people are going to stick around and meet for lunch/dinner. If it's a large group, there will be difficulty getting into any mall restaurants together and seated together. If it's a small group staying and meeting later, it won't be as hard.

If it is a large group, I'd like to suggest this option outside of the mall: On Golf Road there's a Fuddruckers- it's big enough that we should be able to all sit near each other, it's not expensive and everyone takes care of their own bill so no problems with splitting the check up 30 ways! Sure, it's not gourmet but if you squint your eyes you can pretend you're at the "fixin's" bar in Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe! :lmao: Of course, there's always Gino's again, if they have that room available.

Just some ideas! :thumbsup2

We will be wherever for lunch, but after that we need to start heading home...Detroit is not exactly around the corner. But we can't wait to meet y'all!

Don't challenge me, girlie. I just might create an "I Miss Tiggerbell" dance.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Unfortunately I don't have a suitable Jack Sparrow figure to represent you.

I DO! I have an extra Jack!! I'm bringing it to Ty-Ry who is going to give it to Tiggerbell!! So, there you can do your dance!!

Oh snap. Does that mean I have to actually do the dance? :faint:
