So, I've been diagnosed with a disease, and can't walk very well at all. I'll be using a chair through the parks on all days with my bf and 2 year old son with a stroller. With this issue, would this be something I would be able to get a gac card? Not sure how this works.. Thank y'all in advance!!

Since it sounds like your mobility issues are resolved with the chair, you most likely will not get the DAS.

GACs (Guest Assistance Cards) were discontinued on October 8, 2013.

The new program DAS (Disability Access Service) began on October 9, 2013.
There is a thread about DAS for WDW and one for DL near the top of the thread list for this board.
The FAQs about DAS cards is post one of each of those threads and is accurate.
We just came back from WDW on November 9.

Some people thought GACs ( and now, DAS Cards) were/are given for certain diagnosis. That is not and was not ever the case. What is important is the needs the person has related to their disability, not their diagnosis.
People with the same diagnosis may have very different needs.
If your needs are met by using a wheelchair in lines/attractions, you don't need a DAS card.

I have something like Chiari and as others have said, a DAS card is not issued based on diagnosis. Besides, most people will not know what it is.

You need to think about your needs while in line. That is what the DAS is for. If a wheelchair meets all your needs, then you will not need a DAS.

Also, you do not need to get a DAS on your first day. You can tour the parks a little and then see how you are doing. If you discover a concern while in the parks you can always go to guest relations and ask about what accommodations are available.
