We are booked into the Cheyenne, but I'm having second thoughts. We stayed at Cheyenne last December and it was fine...... apart from having room number 1666!! My DS and DD were convinced it was haunted. I think we would be better off at Sequoia, main reason being the walking distance to parks. Price difference is just over £50. Should I, or shouldn't I! Help me decide pleeeeeeeze.

I loved the SL ... the walk around the lake is fabulous.

Is it £50 each more or £50 in total? If in total, I would go for it and book SL :goodvibes just so you can try somewhere different!

If you like swimming then the Sequoia Lodge has a pool, which the Cheyenne does not. :) I think that was definitely the deciding factor for us when we were planning our trip!

£59 in total for 3 of us.

That's a real bargain - I'd definitely go for it. We like the Cheyenne a lot but the SL is nearer to the parks - we didn't use the shuttle buses at all this last trip when we stayed at SL - and it is also more luxurious. If you get a Montana room (we got a free upgrade by cheekily asking though it costs very little more anyway) you'll be in the main building which is nice once you've got warm and cosy on a chilly evening and the refurbishment should be finished by the time you go and there's a lovely big lounge with comfy chairs and a big open fire.

I haven't stayed in either but if it were me I would definitely pay the extra £59 and stay at SL. It will be somewhere different for you to experience and the atmosphere is especially suited for the Christmas season.

I just called Disney to change my booking to Sequoia, it's defo only £59 more for all of us... only thing is they wouldn't do it over the phone, I have to fax them and I don't have a fax!! I'll try the library tomorrow. Thank you Nicola, Reid, Diana, Bonnie, Miffy.

Free upgrade!! Hmmm...Just how much cleavage did you show Diana??

I'd also like to hear how you asked for an upgrade, was it simply "Do you have any free upgrades?"

Might try this to blag a lake view in the NY next week.

What's this about my cleavage??? Must admit I hadn't thought of that but will bear it in mind for future requests!!!! :rotfl2: I just asked (in French, though I doubt that had any effect on the outcome) if they had any rooms available in the main building. She made a phonecall and said: "Oui madame" - easy as that!! It's always worth a try. I think Rhiannon said it would have cost us about £12 to pay for a Montana room (2 adults for 4 nights - can't remember if that was £12 each or between us) but anyway not a lot and we would have been happy to pay it but if you don't ask you might not get a free upgrade. Bear in mind though that the parks and therefore the hotels were very quiet when we were there.
