we are going to be 3 adults and 1 child. have our package already booked with disney. from 26-29march staying at the cheyenne hotel. was just checking on their site and would cost us 276euro to upgrade from cheyenne to new port bayclub.
on our last trip me and my bf stayed at Newport and were pleased. now would like to visit a different hotel but i dnt want 2 be disappointed.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was quite disappointed with our room at the NBC last week to be honest.

The only advantage with the NBC is its a slightly shorter walk to and from the Village and the parks. But, because the NBC is so much larger than the Cheyenne, that (as it was for us) could well be cancelled out completely by the amount of time you have to spend once you get into the hotel, finally reaching your room.

At least in the Cheyenne, you don't have to go anywhere near the public areas of the hotel to get to your room, they are in separate blocks.

Apart from the small dressing area next to the bathroom, the rooms at the Cheyenne and NBC are the same size, with same size furniture etc. There is no minibar or hairdryer, or pool, at the Cheyenne.

Personally I'd opt for the Cheyenne (although I haven't stayed at either)

Just think that the Cheyenne looks nicer, friendlier hotel. The NBC looks like a giant white maze to me. When we went to look around last week we spent 10 minutes looking for a lift from the front of the hotel to reception!!

Have stayed at both and had an absolutely faultless experience with the NPBC on the Admiral's Floor, which at the time meant quite a few perks which seem to have now disappeared. Personally I like everything about the Newport, it appeals to me aesthetically inside and outside, so add that to our fabulous stay and you can probably see why I'm such a fan. Really I need to stay there in a standard room, without any VIP extras just to see how I feel about it after.
My 2nd favourite is the Cheyenne, the theming is fabulous and we may very well stay there next time.
My reservations are:
*It's position and the walk to the parks although it doesn't look too bad on Google Earth, we used the buses last stay here. :scared1:
*I'm not keen on having to go from one building to another for breakfast or to get to reception or the shop etc., especially in the rain, snow or sleet.
*When we went last Nov. we stayed at SL and a lady I travelled back with said that there was only natural yoghurt at breakfast and tinned fruit cocktail at the Cheyenne. My traditional Disney breakfast starts with fruit cocktail and yoghurt and I like it fresh and fruity.
*We couldn't get into the bar at Cheyenne last stay it was packed and I traditionally like a little nightcap before bed.

On the plus side, the kids are guaranteed seperate bunk beds, it's cheaper, we spend hardly any time in the hotel anyway, we've never used the pool at NPB or SL, so won't miss that. My kids are older so we can stay out later at the Village and miss the Shuttle Bus fiasco and I suppose I could have my little drinkie in the village. ;)

thanks 4 all ur advice.
i think we will be keeping our booking at the cheyenne. we wont be spending much time in the hotel anyway. when we stayed at newport we always used to walk it to the village, never used the buses.
i know the cheyenne is further away but is it a much longer walk?

You can easily walk to the Cheyenne from the Village in 10-15 minutes, and its a very pleasant walk too.

ok great news :goodvibes
still long time to wait for our trip but am already excited
