Have stayed at both and had an absolutely faultless experience with the NPBC on the Admiral's Floor, which at the time meant quite a few perks which seem to have now disappeared. Personally I like everything about the Newport, it appeals to me aesthetically inside and outside, so add that to our fabulous stay and you can probably see why I'm such a fan. Really I need to stay there in a standard room, without any VIP extras just to see how I feel about it after.
My 2nd favourite is the Cheyenne, the theming is fabulous and we may very well stay there next time.
My reservations are:
*It's position and the walk to the parks although it doesn't look too bad on Google Earth, we used the buses last stay here.
*I'm not keen on having to go from one building to another for breakfast or to get to reception or the shop etc., especially in the rain, snow or sleet.
*When we went last Nov. we stayed at SL and a lady I travelled back with said that there was only natural yoghurt at breakfast and tinned fruit cocktail at the Cheyenne. My traditional Disney breakfast starts with fruit cocktail and yoghurt and I like it fresh and fruity.
*We couldn't get into the bar at Cheyenne last stay it was packed and I traditionally like a little nightcap before bed.
On the plus side, the kids are guaranteed seperate bunk beds, it's cheaper, we spend hardly any time in the hotel anyway, we've never used the pool at NPB or SL, so won't miss that. My kids are older so we can stay out later at the Village and miss the Shuttle Bus fiasco and I suppose I could have my little drinkie in the village.
