Hello everyone,

So we're off next sunday and we'll be staying at the Cheyenne for the first time. I have a few questions here if anyone can help me with please?

1. Is kettle provided in the room?
2. How about iron and ironing board?
3. Is it worth paying extra to be located near the hotel facilities? We only booked standard room. Is there any chance we can choose the block before we go or can only do this during check in?
4. Is Sitting Bull a standard room block? How far is it to walk to the village from this block?
5. Is the outdoor play area open all day?
6. Is the pony ride available and if so how much does it costs?

Thanks in advance!

1. No, but you can put a deposit down and get one from reception
2. There's not one in the room. I'd imagine you could get one but I've never asked. I always wear creased clothes at Disney!
3. I don't think it's worth paying extra. I personally prefer to be away from the facilities as it's quieter. I emailed them 2 weeks before my trip and asked to be in Running Bear (we walk to the parks and it's closest), they granted my wish.
5. Yes
6. Sorry, I don't know the answer to this. It wasn't open when I last went (December), but that was probably due to the weather.

Thank you for your reply. May i know how long will it take to walk to the village from running bear? We have 6 and 3.5 years old kids with us and not planning to bring the pushchair. May i know the email address for cheyenne please? Thank you :)

I think your 3 year old might need a pushchair - you walk for miles every day at DLP without realising it.

Hi, we stayed in Annie Oakley block last week which was ideal as halfway between the hotel facilities and the exit to walk to the parks, also very close to the shuttle bus stop. It took less than 5 mins to walk to breakfast then about 10 to the village from here with a pushchasir and a 5 year old walking. I emailed the Cheyenne two weeks before our arrival to ask for this block and I also asked for ground floor and a view of the cowboy village and all this was granted. I requested as kettle in my room but they didn't put one in I had to get one from reception and give many card details for a 25 euro deposit.

The children's play area was shut last week and didn't show any signs of opening soon as was the one at Santa fe. I believe the poney rides start in may, but i could be wrong on that one, they definitely weren't running last week.

I agree about possibly needing a pushchair, I ended up having to hire one for my five and a half year old, she was wiped out by 4 pm the first day!

If you do hire there is a buggyboard type thing on the back, your 6 year old might very well appreciate a ride too. As others have said there is a lot of walking involved. :goodvibes

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about the room location, we've stayed near the facilities, near the park and in the middle, there's not a lot to choose, it's not that big, you can walk one end to the other in 5 minutes :)

There's a launderette at Cheyenne, maybe an iron and board in there ?

We actually had a kettle in our room last year at the Cheyenne, plus a few tea bags, coffee, etc which we thought was great but a little surreal as there was also a "please enjoy" note in Italian!

As for the location of your room, I think the complex is quite compact so where ever you are you are nearby!

If you have a couple of young ones, bring a buggy, but although it says its a 20 minute walk I think it's more like a 10 minute gentle stroll

It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Running Bear to the parks. That's with a couple of kids (3 & 1).

I'd echo what the others say about the pushchair. My son (3) is very energetic but he needed it at times.

I emailed: dlp.guest.communication@disney.com

Yes, the pushchair hire is 12 euros a day. If you want to take it out of the parks though you have to pay a 75 euros deposit.

The laundry room is opposite the Annie Oakley block that was another think we found handy, but the others are right there's really not much in it and I definitely wouldn't pay more to be nearer the facilities.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I have another questions here is the blocks along rio grande for example running bear, doc holliday, sitting bull facing the cowboy town at all?

We were at Cheyenne last week in the Sitting Bull block. We had kettles in both our rooms (had them on last trip, too) but you can hire them for a small fee. We had a view of the play area - it was shut as they were doing some work to the grass area. Pony rides are only available in high season, as far as I am aware. However, last April they did have those giant hamster wheel things! Have never walked to the parks - we always catch the bendy bus as my kids love these! The rooms don't have hairdryers so don't forget to pack one.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I have sent an email to the hotel requesting sitting bull block. Just have to wait and see if the request is granted when we go next weekend :). Also we are going to bring our tandem pushchair :)

Thank you again :)

Just wondered do they usually reply to your email or you just assumed they receive it? :confused3

They replied to me saying something along the lines of my request has been marked on my reservation but they can't guarantee I'd be allocated that block.

It took them over a week to respond to me.

Thank you :goodvibes

I think i'll leave it until the beginning of next week and see if they will reply to my email. I guess if not i just have to wait and see when we arrive there. Or should I phone them? :confused3
