we had booked to stay in santa fe in nov

just received a call from coach company to ask if we would like to upgrade freee to the Cheyenne Hotel

looking on the site , it is still 2 keys /stars like santa fe

** there is a £60 price diff to the package we org booked

anyone ever stayed here , and what is it like

thanks:banana:

I stayed here in July with my family enjoyed it so much we booked yesterday to go again Christmas Eve:yay:
We ate at their restaurant every night the food was delicious.Breakfast was good as well.
Rooms are a good size double bed and a set of bunks and plenty of room for a cot.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel its fab better than the Santa Fe in my opinion:banana:

Cheyenne is a nice hotel so I'd say go for it!!! And £60 isn't bad at all:)

we didnt have to pay , its a free upgrade

was just saying that to book it as a pakage now is £60 dearer than what we paid

have re worded my org psot so hope it makes sense lol

   for free upgrade lol

I've stayed at both, and to be honest, the bedrooms and bathrooms in each hotel are very very similar - similar size etc, most rooms in the Santa Fe have 2 double beds, most rooms in the Cheyenne have one double bed and one set of bunks.

Inside, I don't think theres much to choose between them, in reception areas, restaurants, bar etc. They are built opposite each other, on either side of the "river" that runs into the lake.

The Cheyenne has brilliant theming on the outside - really really does look like a wild west town. The Santa Fe's outside theme does let it down compared to the Cheyenne.

I'm going back to the Santa Fe next month - because the beds are the comfiest I have ever slept in  (I found the Cheyenne beds a lot harder to sleep on).

If you have young children, and they like cowboys/cowgirls, they will love the Cheyenne.

I have only ever been to the Santa Fe hotel (going to Cheyenne in Jan 09 though) and I honestly hand on heart would go back to Santa Fe like a shot, the only reason we are going to Cheyenne is that it was only £40 to upgrade all in for the 4 of us!!:rotfl: So thought it was worth a blast!
The beds in Santa Fe are soooooo comfy, seriously out of this world! But according to the lass on the phone she says all the hotels use the same mattresses???? Hope so I will be gutted if I get uncomfy nights sleep!!;)
I think if its a free upgrade then YEAH dofo upgrade!! You can alway go to Santa Fe next time and compare that way! Free is good!:rotfl:

oh no just saw what Elaine wrote about the beds, I feel ripped off!lol

Go for it! I've stayed at the Santa Fe and I really liked it but a free upgrade should never be turned down. lol. :rotfl: It's more expensive to stay there for a reason - probably better theme, closer to the action, nicer rooms... Go and be a cowboy. - yee ha!

My trip in December will be my first stay at the Cheyenne. I loved the santa fe beds too !!!! But I think I had a good nights sleep because Im always so happy and relaxed when I am in DLRP.
The theming does look good from the brochures and from walking past.
I didnt really enjoy food at the Santa Fe.
Go for it !

We have been to DLRP three times and we have always stayed at the Cheyenne:thumbsup2
The rooms are not the biggest ever (our party is of 4 adults and we struggled a bit with luggages and other stuff) but the hotel theming is nice for adults too and you can easily walk to and back from the Parks via the Village.
IMO it can be a bit noisy if you have a room not far from the main building but we were usually so tired at nights that we could had slept among cows and horses and still had a great night LOL :rotfl:

Me and my friend just booked our trip, we were orig going to stay at the cheyenne, looks good! we had arranged who would have the bunks lol. but on the phone at the travel agent, they offerred us for 66pounds more to upgrade to the sequoia lodge, we thought that was really good and went for it!

Ive never stayed in the Cheyenne but looks real fun :)
