Chewie wait time?

We are going to Disney Aug 28-Sept 4th, what are the wait times like to meet Chewie?

He's generally about 30 min

We were there a few weeks ago and saw an average of 30 minutes. However, if you want a minimal wait, the earlier the better. We rope dropped rock and roller coaster, then got on tower of terror, then headed over to see Chewie. So I think we got to SW launch bay about an hour after the park opened. The sign said a wait of 10 minutes for him which ended up being closer to 5 minutes. We also stayed to the right upon entering launch bay and went directly to meet & greets (bypassing the movie clip portion).

Is there a "touring plan" needed for the Launch Bay? How long would it take to experience everything there? And is it open, including characters, during morning EMH?

No you don't need a touring plan. The launch bay has the meet and greet, behind the scenes short film, props, costumes, few games, artwork. It's all up to you how long you want to spend there. You can see it all and be out in about 20-30 min. Or you can take your time and spend more than an hour in there. And yes I do believe it's fully open during all EMH

we went around 8pm and it was 5 minutes

First thing in the morning, or after dinner is the best time to go. Wait times are minimal. We went went after dinner and waited 10 minutes.
