Chevy Trailblazer owners...

We went from a 2001 Pontiac Montana to a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer EXT and I love it! We have 7 passenger seating - 2 kids in the back, 2 in the middle with a seat to spare and DH and I in the front.

We have always had room for our luggage when we vacation - now when we all have sports equipment in the back it does not always fit, but one seat can fold down in the back and 3 kids can sit in the middle with 1 in the back.

I live in ONtario and the 4WD is great in the winter.

Yes, the mileage is worse than the van but I decided that I look much better in an SUV than a minivan :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have the red Trailblazer (2003) and loved it so much DH got the 2004 blue Trailblazer. We have the LT models.

We have a 2003 Trailblazer - mixed feelings about it. It is our first SUV, so we love the room in back, especially for grocery shopping/errands. No major problems, and service from dealer has been fantastic. We had to get the radio replaced, as it was doing weird things, but it was under warrenty. We only have one child so space not a big issue. That said, if we are picking up others, it can get VERY cramped if there are three people in the back seat (using one car seat in the middle). If there are just two total in the back seat - no problem. We have taken it on long trips with no incidents or issues. I don't check gas mileage :guilty: . I know I should. If we were in the market to get a different SUV I would want to shop around more - I liked the Nissan, but it was more money and foreign made, so we didn't get it.

I have been driving a minivan for 11 years and I really would like something different...but, we need space and I don't want a gas guzzler. We already have DH's crew cab dually that is a huge gas hog, we definitely don't need another.
The search is on...what will I find to suit our needs (and pocketbook!)?

Thanks for all the info!
I am thinking that the Trailblazer may not be for us...For my sanity, we need the 3rd seat! 3 kids just cannot sit right beside each other. By having the 3rd seat it sounds like we will lose all the storage...with sports equipment and band instruments we need storage.
Now, all I have to do is convince DH that this may not be the vehicle for us.

Those of you with 3 kids (and a dog) what do you drive?

I have 3 kids, a dog and lots of sports and band equipment in the car -- and we carpool with 3 others for band--- I drive a Suburban. I love it. It is my second one -- this one is 4 years old and had 85,000 miles on it. They are more expensive then a Trailblazer, but have LOTS more room to sit and for storage. :thumbsup2

I bought a Trailblazer in 03, new, and loved it!! So much that this year we traded it in and bought a new 06 EXT model with the DVD player in it. We only have 2 kids, but you can put one 3rd row seat down and keep one up for sitting in and that adds another seat and storage. I was told by my sales rep they aren't manufacturing the EXT anymore because that was one of the GM plants shut down this year, but I never researched further just took his word for it, so don't quote me on that. I love my Trailblazer. It rides great and as an SUV you expect it to use more gas. I loved both of them and would highly recommend one. Plus the 2 service centers I have right by me are excellent..always fast and friendly. Though I have only had maybe 2 problems. With the old one my window went off track (probably my own fault) and it was raining out, they took me in without an appointment and fixed it in 15 minutes. The other I just had a belt squeaking (it was no big deal I just didn't like the squeak) and they fixed it under warranty (even though it didn't truly need to be changed)in less than an hours wait.

I got the Bose 6 CD Stereo  it. Sunroof  it. ON-STAR  it. Yup, the ride is just so sweet. DH had a Ford Explorer (2002) and that was more of like a truck when we drove it....such a difference with the TBlazer!
