Hi Guys,

i am planning my wedding and we are getting married at disney (don't yell at me) but every trip we always go to universal and islands of adventure.

i am trying to give everyone a list of things that they would personally like to do as some have never been! can you believe it?- it seems like people would rather go on holiday to other places apart from orlando!!

Now my sister is a little on the large side and when we went to Thorpe Park (theme park- rubbish compared to US) in england she was turned away from the rides with the overhead harnesses as they couldn't secure the harness.

my question is before i tell her to spend extra to come to universal will she have problems getting onto any of the rides in either IOA OR US?

She may have problems on the roller coasters, but they do have modified seating that may be able to accomodate her. They do have "test" seats out side of the rides so she can check it out first (to avoid embarassment)

I think that the only rides that are like that are Hulk & Dueling Dragons

I'm a large chested plus size gal and i dont' have any problems with the coasters at US. I do believe Hulk has the larger harnesses on a couple of rows (right around the middle of the car and labled if I remember correctly), but I'm fine without the larger ones. Seems like maybe Kraken at Sea World was the only coaster that I really need the larger one.

There are only 2 coasters with overheads it may be only thing she has a problem with and like PP said they have test seats. Most of Universal has no restraints so biggest problem there would probably be Jimmy Nuetron.

At IOA a big problem for me is Dudley which is a water ride and it is very low and tight. Spiderman and JP is shared harness. Water rapids is just a seatbelt.

Check that out for some more first hand experience.

Modded seats on DD and Hulk are in rows 3 and 6 its second seat that loads. O btw congrats on getting married! :goodvibes

What do you mean by "its second seat that loads"?

As their loading the cars you would be the second person getting in. With 4 seats I couldn't rly think of another way to say its second seat as there are kinda 2 diff second seats lol.

Ahh...so it isn't the entire row - it is just one seat within each of rows 3 and 6. I, for some reason, was envisioning an entire row of modified seats.

That is correct its just the 1 seat in both rows. I sat in it I personally didn't think it was any "roomier" persay but it may be. It does have 2 seatbelts so you know you are in the right seat.

thanks guys! i feel a lot better now becuase i know she would love the rides as i worried she wouldn't be able to go on anything exciting!

Just wanted to pop in and say congratulations - have a DREAMY wedding!

I always wanted to have ours at Disney, but mom and dad were paying and it really was about them (I was young-ish, and it was fine to have it at their church). Did go to Disney 3 months later for honeymoon though - 4 nights at the GF (after 3 offsite at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, didn't like it so moved over).

Happy planning! Hope it's all wonderful!
