Chest Rash, what could it be?

This seems to happen every summer. At first I thought it was heat but I haven't been in the sun much at all this year.

It itches so bad to the point I've made a small blister in one place. The rash and itching goes from the bottom of my throat all the was to the top of my breasts but not on them at all. And its just in the middle not on the sides.

What could this be? Could it be stress or worrying? I have no idea what to do about it. I tried Neosporin but it didn't help. I tried Aloe and it just made it butn and itch.

Any advice?

Could you be allergic to something? I had a rash exactly like that once, and it turned out to be an allergic reaction to an antibiotic which I had taken a million times before. The allergic reaction just came out of nowhere.

I've thought about that but can't think of anything. This happened last year too and I thought it was a reaction to the sun. It seems to get worse if I'm hot. I haven't used any new washing powder or any new perfume or lotion. I haven't been on any medicines.

Could it be eczema (dry skin)? Maybe the weather change (hot temperature?) is causing a flare up (?) My DD has eczema & it seems like the heat sometimes makes her dry skin worse. If it bothers you visit your Dr. or better yet a dermatologist.....I'm sure they'd be able to tell you what it is. Good luck, skin issues are the worst! We deal with them daily & sometimes I wish it would just Go Away!

Mostly all rashes (especially allergic hives) get worse in the heat or the sun. The heat and sun will flare up a "hives" rash in no time.

I have no idea what it could be. Do you use a hot tub/jacuzzi at all?

My friends daughter got a rash like you describe from using a hot tub that wasn't properly disinfected. The rash hit right on her chest where the "water line" was in the hot tub.

I just went to the dr becuase I developed a rash on my stomach recently. Actually 1st I had a small rash on the top of my leg. We thought it was a reaction to meds I just started. I stopped the meds, went on a steroid and it cleared up. 3 days later it was on my sides and stomach. And I just itched. We know can guess it wasn't the new med, but definately something. I am now on another steriod to clear up the latest. If it comes back again then I have to see a dermatologist according to my dr. He is as baffled as I am!!

We do have a new pool. Just one of the above ground Wal-Mart type pools but maybe the rash is from the water? Although this second time I haven't been in it for a few days.

Well, I haven't heard of happening in pools, but I suppose it can. Go on to google and put in "hot tub folliculitis" and see if it resembles what you have.

Ok, my DH gets a rash on his upper back in between his shoulder blades and 1/2 way down, but he says it doesn't itch. He went to a dermatologist and she diagonised Tinea Versicolor.

She gave him a prescription for Selenium 2.5% lotion/shampoo
