Cherry Wood Furniture...

I have an entertainment unit made of Cherry Wood. It is starting to look dull. I was told not to use Pledge on it by a friend since it could ruin the cherry finish (???). So if that's the case, what have you used on your cherry wood furniture to make it's nice shine come back? I've owned this about 6 years now & have never "polished" it, just dusted....

hmmm... i've always used pledge on my cherry furniture but mine has a lot of polyurethane on it.

I have A LOT of Cherry, both the light & dark finish.

I have always used Pledge, no problems here!

We have a cherry entertainment center and we've used Pledge on it. So far, no problems.

Call a furniture store in your area, they should be able to help you. Our bedroom furniture is cherry, I like to keep it protected from the elements with a nice layer of dust . Seriously though, they will never tell you to do this, but I use a barely-damp wash cloth - still looks like new. I used Pledge on our dining room table once and it made it look dull and filmy. I buy the stuff from the furniture store. It is called Hi-Lo. It works great! I use it on all of my wood furniture.

I use Old English oil on our cherry furniture. I've heard that the sprays aren't that good for any wood, but the oil seems to be fine.

I was wondering about the Old English Oil...I may give that a try. I also thought about calling the furniture store where I ordered the entertainment unit (now I also have a computer armoire & a huge desk of cherry) to see what they recommended. I may just try the oil first to see how I like the way it works though!

I use endust to clean everything and have never had a problem.

I use lemon oil on everything. Makes it shine!
