Watching a harrowing documentary about Chernobyl. This catastrophe happened only when I was still a babe, but the implications have far outlasted that. The reactor control room is terrifying, and the abandoned school rooms with books fluttering in the rooms and empty swimming pool a scary reminder of life past there.

Nuclear power plants produce obscene amounts of electricity for the dollar, but the environmental impact, IMHO, makes them a poor choice.

The series on HBO was excellent. Very well done and worth a watch.

This guy got a 5 minute tour of Control Room no. 4 - soooo spooky! He even got shown around the interior of the containment dome, for a VERY short time. Must have been humbling.

I remember watching that when it was new. OMG it was disturbing in many ways (I think the part about the animals bothered me the most), but it was definitely well worth the watch. It was a very good show.
