I lost my favourite ring! :sad1: I didn't realize it until Dh and I got home, that it was gone. I think my hands were numb from all the clapping and that's why I didn't notice. I've had that ring for 20years and only took it off for cleaning. I have no idea how I could have lost it unless maybe the shank broke and it worked it's way off with clapping so much. I called the John Labatt Centre first thing this morning and the receptionist put me through to a woman who handled this but I got voice mail, instead. I left a message but no one called me back, so well over an hour later, I decided to drive back to London. They were of little help, saying that a thorough cleaning is done after the show and nothing had been turned in. What I had wanted to do was to go and check around my seat myself but they wouldn't let me into the arena, even with someone - crews were setting up for another concert tonight and the arena was considered a "construction zone"! I was really disappointed in their attitude and that someone couldn't have gone in to look around better. Our row was very clean when we left so how do I know that there was a "thorough" cleaning done? Of course, I know, "finders keepers" is always a possibility, but you never know. There's a possibility that it could have fallen off on the walk back to the car too. The moral is to make sure you have everything before you leave!

Aside from that, the concert was great, although loud. It started with The Village People, who had the whole audience up doing YMCA the "correct" way ;), at the end of their set. I'm not a huge Cher fan but I've enjoyed her through the years as she's from my generation, and thought this was something I shouldn't miss. Except for losing my ring, I'm glad I went. I've read that she's "finally" ending her Farewell Tour at the Hollywood Bowl at the end of this month.

HUGS!

Did you check the car? Maybe it fell off while you were getting in and slid between the seat and the door?

Pixie Dust that it "Magically" turns up!

Thanks Janet! I think I've checked just about everywhere in the house and car that it could possibly have fallen. I even hauled out the garbage piece by piece. I'm still hopeful it will turn up but it was an unusual and very pretty ring.

We went to Duran Duran in Toronto on April 5 and what a helluva show those guys put on! Never got to see them perform in the 80's but I'll tell you they rocked the house at the ACC. Sorry to hear about your ring. Best wishes on finding it! This is what we were doing all night at the concert-----> :cool1:

That sounds like it was a great concert, SnowWhite! Our next one is Santana at the Molsen Amphitheatre on June 24. I'm really looking forward to that one. We saw Aerosmith there a couple of years ago and they really rocked!!

My Dh told me to take off all my jewellry before we go! ;) If my ring doesn't turn up, I think I might investigate what it would cost to have a copy made.

finds it's way home to you..until then, like your DH said, No Bling!!;)

:sunny:

Sorry to hear about your ring...

I almost lost my bracelet at the Duran Duran concert in Montreal....but i caught it as it fell off. I was clapping to hard.

Snow White is right...they ROCKED!!!!

Hope the ring turns up.

Thanks Mary Beth and Samantha! I just put an ad in the "Lost" section of the London Free Press. It's a long shot, but figured I might as well try it.

Sorry to hear about your ring but glad you had a great time at the concert. I have a cousin that works at the JLC and he got me a couple tickets to go see Sting at the end of the month. I hope you get a call about the ring.

Oh Julie  So sorry, hope you find it, maybe it will show up and not have been lost at the concert after all? You will always remember this concert, but for the wrong reason :guilty:

I can hardly wait to see Elton John at the ACC in Sept. I will leave my jewelry at home  A friend of mine saw Cher too, thought the concert was amazing, her husband wished there had been more singing and less costume changes though LOL.

LOL Kathe, I thought the same thing regarding all Cher's costume changes! They were all beautiful costumes, though and she looked great in them. There was always lots going on stage while she was off doing a costume change, her whole show is very entertaining.

CharlesTD, if you are talking to your cousin, maybe you could ask him to check any nooks and crannies in Section 109, Row G, Seats 3 & 4 area! ;)

TNDM I will make a note of it and ask him if anything was turned in for you. I will pm you and let you know what he says.

Julie - Glad to hear that you had a good time at the Cher concert but I'm so sorry about the ring. It didn't catch in any of your clothes did it? I once had a necklace that I thought I had lost and it turned out that it had come undone but snagged on the inside of my sweater. I didn't find it til I did the wash.

We see Reba in May which I'm looking forward to.

It's interesting to see all the concerts that everyone has lined up to see! We don't go all that often but I do enjoy having the opportunity to see these entertainers that I've listened to all these years. I recently saw Yanni too, who I've seen 3 times now and I  his concerts! ;)

Fiona, I did check all my clothes and checked them again after reading your post. No luck for me but glad you found your necklace.

Julie, I really am sorry about your ring. I'm still hopeful that it will show up!

You've lost some weight haven't you? Next time we do lunch, I'm making sure you order dessert!! ;)

Hi Julie. I work right across the street from the JLC. If you PM me with the details of what the ring looks like, I'd be happy to go over at lunch one day and ask to rummage through what they have. I'm guessing that it's pretty hard for them to continually match up reports on lost items with those items that turn up, so maybe it wouldn't hurt to have a look. :)

Just let me know!
