I bought three chenille sweaters this winter and they are getting thin already. The fuzz is disappearing.
Does anyone else have this problem, do all chenille sweaters do this?
I love them, they're so soft and look great at work, but I don't want to waste my money on a sweater that I can only wear a couple months.

Yes, unfortunately that's happened to me, too! :(

Even my Mom, who washes her chenille sweaters by hand and air dries them has been complaining that they pill and then thin out.

You are right, though - they are sooooo soft and comfy.

I had one that nearly fell to pieces, although I followed the care instructions. I bought another at the same time that held up nicely. Since winter merchandise is now going through the clearance price, you're not likely to make a valid return ... unless you have your receipt and you didn't buy them early in the season.

I wouldn't return something after wearing it a couple months even if it did fall apart. I would take that as a lesson learned and not buy it again.
That's the main reason I'm asking. I was wondering if it was chenille sweaters in general that disappear before your eyes, or just the brand I bought.

My favorite chenille sweater wore completely away on the shoulder where I carried my purse...... so a word of warning...don't carry a shoulder bag when you wear chenille!

Every chenille sweater I have ever bought has gotten thin spots or holes. I love they way the feel when they are new, but they definitely aren't a long term item. :(

I just had to throw one away the other day. It was so see thru that I couldn't give it to Goodwill.

Yep, I've had the same problem. I just don't purchase them anymore.

OK, I'll admit it. I accidentally threw a chenille sweater into the washer with a load of clothes. You should have seen the mess!
Threads and fuzzies on all the other clothes that would NOT come out! A dryer full of so full of lint that I had to call a vent cleaner to clear the dryer and the vent all the way to the outside of the house to prevent a fire hazard. You can bet I will not make that mistake again

Well, that settles that. At least I know it's not the brand. thanks all. :)

How do you keep your sweater from shedding all over?! I bought one and it hasn't had a chance to thin out because I don't wear it much. It leaves fuzz on EVERYTHING and then that fuzz transfers to all my other clothes. I HATE that.

My DH won't let me hug him when I'm wearing it because then he wears my sweater fuzz!
