Marina: she hid behind Dapper, curled into a ball. She had grabbed a blanket when she had rushed into the cave. She let her clothes dry more out in the sun and wrapped herself up in the blanket. Karen's words ran through her head. Why wouldn't Karen just kill her? She was vulnerable, alone, and had no protection whatsoever. She snuggled into the large bear's flab and shivered.

Karen: She hadn't found Jordan, but she would. She knew that she'd have to get him when he wasn't expecting it.

He also knew that if Karen was upset and wanted to kill him he was putting the others in danger as well. She could come here to get him and hurt the others.
