Trent: he woke up and smiled at up at his sleeping boyfriend. He leaned up and kissed Matt's lips. His hand trailed up to the back if his neck and touched the scarred, burned flesh and started to cry softly, remembering their last conversation.

Matt: He opened his eyes hearing the soft sobs of the boy he loved. "Trent, honey, don't cry. It's okay." He sat up and held Trent tightly in his arms.

Trent: "I don't want to go back there. I'll die if they find me. I can't testify, Matt. I can't."

Matt: "Then you don't have to." He wiped Trent's tears away and kissed him. "You're okay. You Dob't have to be worried about crying around me or anything."

Trent: He nodded. "O-Okay." He nuzzled his face into his chest and cried.

Matt: He stroked Trent's shaggy hair. "I love you. I promise I'm going to protect you. Cross my heart and hope to die."

Trent: "Thank you." He gently touched the hickey on his neck. "I never did put that shirt back on," he said with a chuckle.

Matt: "Well, handsome, I'm totally fine with that." He gently placed a hand on Trent's bare chest.

Trent: He giggled and blushed. "You think I'm handsome?"

Matt: "Of course I do."
