I am thinking about doing the Chef's Table at Victoria & Albert's for our anniversary during our trip in August. Can anyone give me info on the cost and how to reserve it? Thanks!
We did this and love it but it can be very expensive if you go with the wine pairing as well (we did and thought it was worth it). They can be made further out than most dining reservations (180 days). When I called the main dining reservationists were not aware of this. I asked to be transfered to group dining (I think it was) and they booked it right away. Last I heard it is $125pp or $185pp with the pairings. The chef was wonderful and spent quite a lot of time with us. My DH thinks it was the best meal of his life. Trust me though DON'T EAT THE BREAD or you won't have room for everything they are going to serve you.
If you call WDW-DINE, there's a special option for V&A. Choose that, then say you want Chef's Table. =) Because it's just V&A they seem to know the 'rules' on that line.
Actually, the Chef's Table is so popular that it is almost mandatory that reservations be 180 days out. On December 6 I called asking for May 30 thru Dec 4 and only two of the six days were available. This will be my third time at CT; you can't ask for better cooking lessons.
I would strongly recommend you being calling the morning of the 180th day from the start of your trip. We did the Chef's Table on our honeymoon and it was our best dining experience ever! DH did wine pairings and I did not and with tax and tip the total bill was about $400...worth it though in our opinion DH started calling on the 180th day from the start of our honeymoon and for the first three days each time he called it was booked. Finally on the fourth day is was available. Good luck and have fun!!
Thanks for the info everyone. When you call to book, do they require a deposit or anything like that? We are actually getting really close to 180 days, so I'm glad I asked this question when I did.
I just made a PS for a regular table at V&A--when I had called 180 days out for the chef's table, it was already booked, so we will have to experience that another time. Anyway, the price for our meal will be $95 per person and if wine pairings are desired, that will be another $50 per person. People who have chosen the wine-pairing option--is it a full glass per course? What are all the courses, anyway? I was told there are six. Thanks for any info!
This sounds amazing. I know my DH would never go for it - he is the pickiest eater ALIVE. But one day my best friend and I are planning a girls trip to WDW (in about 10 years LOL!!) and we will DEFINITELY do this!!! I will wait eagerly til then....
