I am curious, is Remy a permanent fixture there now, or is he still there indefinetly? We are thinking of eating there this November, and I was just curious if I could tell my 8 year old son about it.

If your child will be severely disappointed if Remy isn't there, then don't tell him anything now. There's no official indication that it's a permanent thing.

I've been there when Remy broke down and had to be taken out of the dining room and didn't return because they had to wait for someone to repair him. So maybe you don't want to tell him anyway.

Just make sure you don't book a reservation on a Sunday.

"Permanent" and "indefinite" are two ways of saying the same thing, especially at WDW. "Indefinite" really just means there are no current plans to change anything, and that's Remy's status. (Saw him just a week ago, and he's delightful - I liked him even better because he doesn't talk, but squeaks.)

It would be very rare for Disney to describe something as "permanent", since that implies it will *NEVER* change, and this could be seen as painting them into a corner if they decided that a change was in order.

we saw him this past july - he comes by your table and stays only briefly... you interact more with his handler than him..... we didn't tell our boys so it would be a surprise... that way there would be no let down.
