Chefs de France?

Would have to echo some of the previous posters with a big "thumbs down" for Chefs de France. Food is very over-rated, but on our two occasions of eating there, we had poor, rude service both times and the length it takes to dine there is outrageous!! We will never go there again.

The grandkids have enjoyed Biergarten both times we have been there and have enjoyed the variety of food there and the entertainment. They even liked having other people at our table to visit with.

They too have been to Teppo (?) with their parents and enjoyed that also.
They are 9 and 6 and hardly paid any attention to Remy when he came by our table.

We tried Chefs while on free dining this past Decemeber. It was OK but the bill was $100 and the food was not worth that. Plus the service was slow. We did have a seat close to the window which was nice. I dont think we will be back when we are paying the bill.

We ate at all 3 on our trip in June with our DD7. She liked them all, but her favorite was Teppan Edo. She loved watching them make the food, and was really impressed we had a FEMALE chef. We eat at hibachi places at home, and had never seen a female chef. She was great to interact with, and really inspired my daughter! :thumbsup2 Tutto was her second favorite, the kids pizza was FANTASTIC, fresh and oven baked and HUGE. She liked Chefs because of Remy (who may or may not be there any more, he was originally supposed to leave in September, but was extended...:confused3) but we were not all that impressed with the food (with the exception of the cheese plate)

I guess we'll have to just give it a shot. It is so hard to know what restaurants will be good or bad. I'm a bit worried about all the reviews of slow service. My kids won't want to sit forever when EPCOT is right outside!

I do look forward to trying a new place and I'll let you all know what we think!

I need one more table service...Epcot, World Showcase. I have three boys, ages 12, 10 and 7. My DH is up for anything, as well as the two older boys. The 7 year old, not so much!;)

We've narrowed it down to Biergarten (which we've done before), Rose & Crown, Tutto Italia, and Chefs de France. I'm leaning toward Chefs but I'm worried about my youngest. Have you taken a 7 yo here and would you do it again? Would one of our other choices be better? Opinions please.

Kids menu is basically the same at every restaurant...Chef De France was great...

We have ate at Chef de France twice and I was not impressed. The last time in December, we were seated 50 minutes after our ressi and it took 45 mins to get our food and it was OK.

We would not eat there again...

Are you on the dining plan? If so, I'd go with anything other than Teppan Edo because of dessert as it sounds very unappealing there.

We had a wonderful experience at Chefs last August. My 13 yo DS loved it and wants to go again next trip. Our server was one of the best of the trip (free dining). His name was Sebastian and he was delightful in every way. :)

Now I'm leaning toward Teppan Edo. I agree that the dessert doesn't sound great. But I was planning on a cannoli anyway!

I still have a few weeks to decide and then I wonder how many times I'll change that ADR!

Another vote for Teppan Edo. It has become our favorite table service in EPCOT. The kids love it as much as the adults.

Chefs de France is one of the few Disney restaurants that hasn't completely dumbed down it's restaurant for tourists. It's a french restaurant and is worth the experience. If you are looking for a quick, junk food meal for your kids, it's probably not the place. However, if you want to soak up a bit of French culture, including a leisurely meal with ethnic foods, then you may enjoy it. We never miss it, and our kids have loved eating there for years. I was not happy when I heard they added Remy, but it is done very low key and tasteful. It dosn't distract from the relaxing dining experience at all. I will be glad when he's gone, though.

Without a doubt I would do the Biergarten. There is lots of entertainment and some of the best soup ever. I love Chefs de France and we have been several times however the service is French, not Disney. We had a bad experience there. The waiter flipped our daughters plate right onto to her lap and we barely got an apology. It wasn't that bad because they had not brought the correct dish anyway. I just found the lack of Disney style service there intolerable. We had an ADR but while I waited at the podeum I overheard the gentleman checking everyone else is tell a guest that they had no room for anyone else. The lady asked if he could rec. a different place to eat that would be good for their family. The staff member told her no that he could not rec. anywhere and pushed her aside. Because of these reasons my family will not be going back to Chef's de France on our next trip in March.

On to something more fun, the Biergarten. We find the entertainment wonderful and the food is delicious. It probably helps that we are German and find some of the food to be as good as what we cook at home. I love the family style atmosphere and the staff and polite. Our daughter will always speak German to the staff and they are thrilled to speak back to her in German. I love the Biergarten. We go everytime.

Funny. I find the service at Chefs much better than the typical Disney "service". I do enjoy the Biergarten also.

My DS is almost 18 ...and has been to WDW 10 times (and quite proud of that!)

If I ask him his FAVORITE thing about ALLof WDW...he will say "Teppan Edo".

When planning his Graduation trip for May...I asked what we HAD to do...and Teppan Edo was his only answer....

(was hoping to try Le Cellier...but I snuck that in on another day !)

Especially since you have BOYS...I would recommend Teppan Edo.

I do understand PP...who said their kid didn't get enough to eat... Some folks do and some don't like Asian food...but I'm sure you'll know that going in...

DS (and yours might) also enjoy: MatsuK(something) the Drum show....Shopping in Japan...the Candy Lady....

Have a Magical Visit!

Please say it isn't so!:sad2:
Remy was still there when we went for lunch on the 2nd. And very understated.

My 10 year old likes the food at Les Chefs but I think this restaurant is definitely more of a foodie's type restaurant. And Teppan Edo is more of an entertainment type place. I'm particularly fond of the appetizers and was glad not to be on the dining plan so I could have 2 appetizers and not a full entree.

My kids don't "love" the kids menu at Chef's. I go for the fr. onion soup and creme brulee. The service seems to be slow also and the little ones get bored quickly. I usually torture them and go anyway so I can get my fix, lol!

We ate here for the first time last Sept. when Remmy was there. Party of 7 ages 7,10, 13, and 4 adults. Everyone enjoyed their meals remmy was cool and our French waiter was funny. Interesting though we are planning our trip right now for this Sept. , but there were no votes to go back. As for your 7 year old he would be just fine if you would like to try it. My vote would be to try something new it's always fun to try new things. I will say no one in our party like Rose and Crown last year. Gl
