Chefs de France?

I need one more table service...Epcot, World Showcase. I have three boys, ages 12, 10 and 7. My DH is up for anything, as well as the two older boys. The 7 year old, not so much!

We've narrowed it down to Biergarten (which we've done before), Rose & Crown, Tutto Italia, and Chefs de France. I'm leaning toward Chefs but I'm worried about my youngest. Have you taken a 7 yo here and would you do it again? Would one of our other choices be better? Opinions please.

my kids love Teppan Edo. The cook and the server kept my boys entertained thorough our meal. Great fun.

Chefs de France is very good. I have heard great things about Teppan Edo. I will be there for the first time in a few days so I can report back then but....

I do agree about the comment from the previous poster regarding Remy. If Remy is still making appearances, then that will be a plus. However, for some reason my DS13, does not like Chefs de France. We have been there a few times, and he just does not like it, he even ordered different entrees each time. We enjoy it, but oh well..Anyway, the other posters who mentioned Teppan Edo, I agree with them 100%. We LOVE it there! It is a great place for both adults and children. The food is so delicious, and the chefs are great entertainment! This is one of my DS favorite places, and ours too!

We had lunch there in June with our kids (6 and 7). Glad we did it once (because of Remy), wouldn't go back there again (because of the food). DS6 had the cheeseburger. It is definately not a *kid friendly* burger. I know that can be a good thing for some kids, not for ours. It is charbroiled with a lot of *black* from the grill and served on a brioche bun. DS6 wouldn't eat it. I can't remember what DD7 had, maybe chicken fingers? Whatever it was, she shared it with her brother...they didn't love it.
DH had the roast chicken and thought it was just ok...I had the onion soup (waaay to salty) and the grilled cheese (cold).
The kids loved meeting Remy. Honestly, the experience was worth it to see their reactions. BUT, as they say, been there done that. Won't be going back.

We tried Chefs de France in the beginning of December 09 for the first time. I have a 7 and a 5 year old. Our meal from beginning until end took two hours. Way to long for kids. My one daughter ordered chicken fingers and they didn't even have ranch or barbecue sauce to dip. We have had good experiences with Tutto Italia aind Teppan Edo.

My eight year old daughter really enjoyed Chefs when we ate there in November for lunch. We both ordered from the set price three course menu and shared. We also got a cheese plate and shared it. Her favorite things, in this order, were the cheese plate, the french onion soup, Remy, and the chocolate dessert (we cannot remember exactly what it was). She also thought it was fun to try to say a few words in French and our waitress was nice to her about it. She did not really care for the Mac and Cheese (although she knew before ordering that is was not what she normally would know as Mac and cheese). She liked my quiche better. I will say though that my daughter is an adventurous eater and likes to try new things, and I always spend some time with her in advance telling her about the countries and things that are specialties and things that she might like to try (although I could not convince her to order the escargot--smile!!!). Also, after looking at the menus, I was pretty sure that she would like the lunch menu better than dinner, so that is why I choose to eat lunch there. Teppan Edo is one of our kids favorite places. DS6 even ate the veggies there!

My kids have loved Teppan Edo since they were little. It's our absolute must do every trip. My two boys (teens) enjoyed Les Chefs, but my daughter hated it for some reason. I think she had just had enough eating out, but she was too old to find Remy entertaining. None of us liked Biergarten--I think we're just not into buffets.

We've eaten at Chefs twice. Once the kids were <2 and 4, and then 4 and 7. The first time the younger shared from everyone's plates, and the 4 year old slept through the entire meal. Neither time was very quick, but it wasn't unpleasantly slow, unless you have kids that do not sit well. Luckily ours decided to be well behaved even though it was the end of the day. This last time they had each of the appetizers, neither liked the cheese pastry, even though they typically like that sort of thing, and the one that likes salad, did like the salad. I think they both got the chicken strips....not great, my son liked it, my daughter shared my beef filet and enjoyed that much more. They got the cookie for dessert, it was HUGE, way more cookie than a little kid needs, neither could finish theirs. My kids both loved Biergarten, they liked lots of the foods, and really enjoyed the entertainment.

Of the ones you mentioned, Biergarten, Teppan Edo, and Rose & Crown would be my top three. I (and my 2 1/2 year old nephew) really enjoyed Biergarten and Teppan Edo, I haven't eaten at Rose & Crown. I don't have much interest in Italian, and I wasn't impressed with the food at Chefs de France.

We have ADRs for Chefs in Feb and that will be our first time there. My kids- 7 & 10- are REALLY picky eaters (mostly my 10 year old son), so I'm looking forward to trying a new place and was glad to see chicken fingers on the menu.

That being said- my kids love the Biergarten. The entertainment is great and they love the chance to get up and dance. They also like the food because there are many choices (buffet). Personally I don't love the food here, but atmosphere and entertainment for the kids makes it a good choice.

We've also eaten at Tutto and Teppan Edo. The kids were not impressed or entertained at Tutto and the food didn't impress me. The kids were entertained at Teppan Edo, but didn't like the food (my picky son ended up not eating anything).

Without a doubt I would do the Biergarten. There is lots of entertainment and some of the best soup ever. I love Chefs de France and we have been several times however the service is French, not Disney. We had a bad experience there. The waiter flipped our daughters plate right onto to her lap and we barely got an apology. It wasn't that bad because they had not brought the correct dish anyway. I just found the lack of Disney style service there intolerable. We had an ADR but while I waited at the podeum I overheard the gentleman checking everyone else is tell a guest that they had no room for anyone else. The lady asked if he could rec. a different place to eat that would be good for their family. The staff member told her no that he could not rec. anywhere and pushed her aside. Because of these reasons my family will not be going back to Chef's de France on our next trip in March.

On to something more fun, the Biergarten. We find the entertainment wonderful and the food is delicious. It probably helps that we are German and find some of the food to be as good as what we cook at home. I love the family style atmosphere and the staff and polite. Our daughter will always speak German to the staff and they are thrilled to speak back to her in German. I love the Biergarten. We go everytime.

Ditto. We find the food at Chefs highly over-rated.

Tutto was one of our best meals last trip, just behind Jiko (and better than a past trip to Cali Grill).

Our sons, now 8 & 11, will tell you their favorite restaurant in all of Walt Disney World is Teppan Edo.

We have eaten at Chef's (one daughter always request it) and the food was good, not great, but good. The only problem we had was our table location. It was in the middle of a room, but right in front of the door where the servers entered. I was banged in the head many times by their large trays. Luckily, we have a sense of humor, so the more it happened, (just because it was kind of bizarre it happened so many times) the harder we laughed about it. (My husband and children offered to switch places with me, but I take up less space than my DH and seriously, I didn't want one of the kids to get hurt. (We would have requested to have our table moved but the kids had a Test Track FastPass burning a hole in their pocket, so we were trying get out of there quickly.)

My real complaint would be it was so loud in there!

I just told my family I was posting about Chef's and they all started laughing and my DD19 said, "Tell them to get take out and go sit in the middle of a parade route, they'll have less of a chance of being injured."
