I just got back from Disney World where I ate at ten different table service restaurants(most of which was excellent), and this is the one I can't wait to go back to next trip. I've never had a meal like it before. I was a little unsure of how I would like French food, and I had to really convince my mom to agree on the restaurant. I'm so glad I went for it. The menu was surprisingly normal, but the food surpassed any expectations. I had the roasted chicken w/ mashed potatoes and green beans. My mom had the macaroni and cheese. It was better than any macaroni and cheese or chicken we'd ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection. The tarts we had for an appetizer were also amazing. It was so good we made a reservation for lunch a few days later. Also, our waiter Ludovic was extremely handsome and very informative when it came to the menu. I would recommend it to anyone.

I am so glad to here that. I have ADR's for Chefs in Sept. Haven't really heard to many reviews on it so I was a little nervous. Now I am really excited :cool1:

Thanks! :goodvibes

We love lunch at Chefs. I've only read raves about that macaroni and cheese. Must order it one of these trips. Do you know what kind of cheese is used?

Thanks for the positive review. We have ADR's for Chefs in October and I'm always willing to try something new but it was reassuring to know there are people who think it's fabulous.

We ate there on July 10th for dinner and it was our best meal of the trip. Four adults, we all had the "filet of beef". I had it with the scallop potatoes, my teens wanted the sweet potatoes, and my preteen got it with mashed potatoes. The meat was so tender it cut with a butter knife. Everybody liked their potatoes. It was really funny when my teen DD asked the server for cinnamon to put on her sweet potatoes. The server asked her 3 times to say the word so he could ask the chef if they had any cinnamon- he did come back with cinnamon and she was happy. I also tried the wine that was paired with the meal. It was a red (merlot - I think). I usually dont like reds but this one was perfect. Not too dry, not too sweet, not too tannic- perfect.

Dessert...... I had the pastry with the cream filling and the chocolate. The chocolate was like a melted warm Hershey bar - the girls had a ? angle food cake with "rhubarb compote" and fresh fruit - its not listed on the allears menu - they didnt care for the rhubarb but ate the rest of the desert and said it was good.

does anyone know if they will make the "grilled cheese" at dinnertime for a picky kid (who's a disney adult)? i *know* ds will love that meal, but i fear that we will not be able to fit in a lunch, but only a dinner ADR... also, any chance of getting mac/cheese as a side dish instead of an entree? (i know, i know, we're a waiter's nightmare! LOL!)

Those are the same meals that DH and I had in April and we loved it too! So glad you enjoyed it as well

We ate there for the first time last year, despite having read some negative reviews, and thought the food was fabulous, especially the desserts. In fact, it can be very difficult to make a dessert choice as there are many appetizing choices.

We are going back in August and looking forward to it.

Yes. This will be our first time using the DDP. Any advice?

If you have the one with the appetizer I would definitely recommend one of the tarts. It's kind of like pizza only ten times better. The entrees that I know are good are the chicken, macaroni, and beef, but I'm sure anything on the menu is cooked perfectly. For dessert, I got the assorted sorbet both times. It had amazing flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. It also came with this cookie that was awesome.

I am glad to read positive remarks about Chefs so I will not include mine and bring this thread down......maybe it depends on who is the Chef that night on how the meals turn out and who is working as servers as they can make or break the meal.

We have an ADR for this September. We ate there last September and it was great!! Can't wait to go back!!!!

just made my dinner adr this morning for october... i am definitely looking forward to this one :)

If we order the sweet potato, we would do the same. Love it with cinnamon and sugar. We have a local restaurant (Lonestar Steakhouse) that serves it that way-DD8 loves it!:cloud9: I'm going to put this comment in my (growing) notes about places we're eating.

We had the beef short ribs, Macaroni and cheese, and ham and cheese sandwich for entrees, Onion soup and tarte with creme fraiche and bacon, and cheese plate for appetizers. Loved everything. Also had Ludovic, and he was great. Sadly, he told us when we asked that he is leaving October sometime. So if any of you go before then, try to ask for him. You won't be sorry.

Looks like we must have had the same chef!!! We ate there last August, and had really been looking forward to it. But, our server was miserable, the food was mediocre at best...my entree was not hot, but middling warm, dh's fish was awful according to him. We were not able to get 'iced tea'.....dh kept asking for ice, for his iced tea, but it never got to us. Nope, we were severly disappointed. Ah well.....at least we finally tried it.

We ate there in March and last August and had great meals! In fact, our meal in August was so good, we had to go there in March! We also have ressies for this August also. Chefs was the first restaurant I also had witnessed a first! Last August when we were there, a couple got up and left without paying for their meal! They stiffed the waitress $200.00! The restaurant was going to make the poor girl pay but we offered to pay for her and I think the restaurant either made her pay very little or nothing at all. I was stunned to see this happen at Disney! We are not rich people, but if I were at Disney (or anywhere else) I would never dream of walking out and not paying. Why would you go to Disney and pull something like that? I always like to believe the best in humanity but this goes to show that there is always the bad too!

Did he say if he was going back to France?
