Hi there--we are going to WDW in september. 2 adults, no kiddies. we have a res at Chefs de france, however I haven't heard much about it on the boards. Not sure if thats a good thing. If anyone has any tips or comments I'd be appreciative. TIA!

Chefs de France is the one restaurant at WDW that I must visit every time I am there. Some meals have been better than others, but I have truly enjoyed all of them. I do have to say that I much prefer lunch over dinner. I like the menu more, and I think the room looks a lot more inviting during the day. Let me know if I can answer any questions!

Just love it!!!!
We try to make it a point to go everytime we visit WDW. It is still one of the few dining experiences left in the world. Staff is very knowledgeable about all wine & food. Plan to spend some time....dine, chat and enjoy. Order a souffle you won't be sorry.

In 10 trips to WDW, I never went to Chefs de France. Then, on my last trip in April 2007, I had lunch there and it was wonderful! I will definitely being going back again and again.

Chefs De France is not opened for lunch...never has been.
Chefs is opened for lunch...Sorry

Is it possible you are confused Chefs with Bistro de Paris? Chefs is definitely open for lunch. I have eaten there and seen many lunch reviews. The lunch menu is also posted on All ears. Bistro is the fancier restaurant and may be only open for dinner.

If you are not on the Dining Plan you may be better off with the restuarant upstairs, Bistro de Paris. This serves Dinner only and does not have a children's menu. It is much more relaxed and it does not take DDP.

Chef's is downstairs, open for both lunch and dinner, and is on DDP and has a children's menu. It tends to be more crowded and much noisier than Bistro, and there is more of a feeling there than at Bistro that they want to get you out so more people can be seated.

For lunch I would take Chefs, but for dinner I much prefer Bistro.

Yup I am 100% wrong...Sorry guys.

This is exactly what we did. After many, many trips to WDW, we finally tried Chefs in January '07 - for lunch. We loved it and had dinner there the next night.

We have an ADR for our trip in August. We really like it.

We also have never dined there in all our trips. Twice we had ressies and ended up cancelling them.
I'll be back to the World next month and it'll just be me and my DH. I already told him we are eating there this time no matter what! Everyone on this thread seems to like it, but I've seen mixed reviews.
I'll be sure to report back. I'm optimistic!

We ate there last year and had a great meal! We loved the atmosphere!:thumbsup2

I was kind of worried when I called to make an ADR at Chefs de France and they asked "What time would you like?" instead of "It's totally booked" or "We have one left...at 9:20". ;)

But I've only had lunch there, and wanted to try dinner once. Has anybody ordered the Assiette Campagnarde(pates, and charcuteries)? I was thinking that might appeal to a meat-loving member of my party, more than some of the other listed appetizers.

DH and I have ADR there for Sept as well it's been the 1 TS meal I keep thinkin I might want to change 1 good reason DH hates France he's been there for real an didn't care for it at all much less the food in France.

Myself I'd like to try it one time with the free dining I want to be a little adventurous with what we eat. We have eaten at most of the other countries in world showcase that we are interested in trying and we doing a couple of repeats of our favs so maybe we keep France.

I ate there for the first time Dec '06. I enjoyed it so much it was my one repeat restaurant for my May '07 trip. Both of those times was for lunch. I'll be there the first week in Oct for dinner. It's one of the meals I'm looking forward to the most. Their desserts are wonderful.

The menu has really been changed for the American taste (which IMO is a shame). Having been to France 3 times and adoring the food, culture, etc. it is a nice break from other Disney dining options.
Can't imagine how someone could dislike France.:confused3

We love the mushroom flatbread there. It's a place I never talk about much since I'd rather it stay a nice little secret!

So glad I saw this post. Just booked Chefs for lunch for our August trip, we to had our choice of times, "any time between 12 and 3:00":cool1:

Anyway, I was wondering if they have any outdoor seating, I thought I saw tables outside last time we were walking thru France? Or maybe what I saw
were tables for the French bakery, that is also around there??? :confused3

Anyone know?

TIA

This is one restaurant that we always have dinner in, and we go at least once a year! Delicious!
