What a break, just got an ADR for Chefs De France on 8/31 at 7:10 to replace my Teppanyaki cancelation.

Can anyone provide any reviews of this resaurant ?

I'm looking at the:

Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with a black pepper sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans $28.95

How is this, or do you have any better suggestions.

Pics would be great as well.

Thanks All.

bumping this because I did the exact same thing for my mother and father for their sept. trip. They seem kind of worried about it so hopefully someone can put their mind at ease. My dad is a pretty picky eater. He does not like weird veggies and stuff. i saw they had a steak and mashed potato dish? I'm sure he'd like that.

tricia.

oh also my mom said he'd probably like the one dish if it didn't come with sweet potatoes. I told her he could try to ask to switch the sweet potatoes out for regular potatoes. Do you think that'd be possible? Anyone ever done that?

tricia.

The steaks I've had there have been great, although I haven't tried the current offering with the black pepper sauce (I think I'd ask to omit the sauce).

I had the braised short ribs in June and they were yummy, even the polenta was quite tasty...and I'm not big on polenta (corn meal mush).

Substituting the mashed potatoes for the sweet potatoes shouldn't be a problem.

The tenderloin will be very good, but you can get a good tenderloin other places. If I were to get beef there, I'd go for the braised short ribs on polenta. That would be something you don't see at every beef establishment.

Don't ignore the chicken. It'll be spectacular. People skip over the chicken because they see it as a mundane food, which I think is a mistake. The French take cooking a chicken very seriously.

Looking at the whole menu, I'd go for the seared tuna with the olive and caper sauce.

But really, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
