We just did all of our ADRs for our Jan/Feb trip.... we are eating at Chefs de France for lunch and Le Cellier for dinner while in Epcot. Now that Via Napoli is open, I am second guessing the France ressie. Anyone have any input? Is Chefs de France worth it or not so great? So far blog comments on Via Napoli are very promising...???? Don't know what to do!?

I've been wondering the same thing...we currently have an ADR at Chefs de France, but I'm contemplating switching.

Was debating the same thing. Chefs de France is good but not necessarily a must do.

My question is if you are on the dining plan what size pizza can you get for your entree? The individual looks very small and without an appetizer that will not go far for DH. However love the idea of those pizzas. They look really good.

Paul Bocuse, who is one of the original "Chefs de France" for which the place is named and whose son manages the restaurant, is one of the most famous and awarded chefs in the world.

On that note, there was a big hoopla that he and his son showed up at the soft opening day of Via Napoli to dine. He liked it.

another Disser (poohj40) who ate there today reported the following:
"I asked about the DDP and pizza. An individual with be 1 TS credit, large 2 TS credits,t and 1/2 meter will be 4 TS credits. We ordered a large for 2 adults and it was more than we could eat so this could be a deal for a family of 3. We saw a family of 4 who left just under half of the 1/2 meter pizza.

As for the food, the calamari was yummy as an appetizer - very flaky, not overly breaded. I didn't like our pizza choice much but DH did. If you are a beer drinker, just order a pitcher. We got almost 6 full mugs out of the pitcher which costs the same as 2.5 individual mugs."

It's a difficult choice. I think overall the food at Chefs de France is better, and I prefer the atmosphere there (it feels like a bustling Parisian restaurant).

Via Napoli has nice pizza (the piccante was great), but the pizzas aren't the best value on the DDP. The largest pizza for four people (which would be $9 per person) is a very bad value when you're using credits (OOP, on the other hand, it would make sense). Plus, I wasn't crazy about the atmosphere (very loud, cafeteria-like, and tables that are close together).

I'd choose Via Napoli if you really feel like pizza or pasta. But Chefs de France would not be a bad choice, and I've always seen it as one of Epcot's better restaurants.

I vote for Chefs. Did you ask this on the Via Napoli thread? Hmm I'll just post it again, lol. I would choose Chefs because French food is not something that is available to me (when I'm in the US not Liberia ;)). I can get different pizzas including from a wood burning stove/oven/thingy, German food, steak, hibachi, sushi, Chinese, Mexican, etc and I'm sure you can get most of those things too. But in most of the places I have lived, french is not that popular for a restaurant theme. I enjoyed the food the one time that I was in France and I have enjoyed Chefs the last two times I have eaten there, service and food was great. I make it a point to eat there every trip :goodvibes

I love Chef de France for lunch. Can you cancel something else on another day and do via Napoli?

We enjoyed Chefs de France so much last year that we're eating there again this November. As far as Epcot restaurants we're also eating at Le Cellier and Teppan Edo. Le Cellier we've done several times but this will be our first time at Teppan Edo. These meals are all dinners so, of course, we went online at 6am to book Via Napoli for lunch on November 11th. We're on the dining plan but, we're going to pay out of pocket for Via Napoli since it's a last minute addition to our plans.

Even though I haven't eaten at either one--I'd go with Chefs de France because it looks so pretty.
The new Italian place is Cute but not unusual--except for the ovens.

Plus for us we live only a couple of miles from an
authentic Italian Pizzaria (owners from Itay)with the super thin pizzas cooked in a wood burning stove but they only cost $14.00 for largest.
