If you could choose Chefs de France or Coral Reef for dinner, which would you pick and why? Any favorite menu items at either one of these resturants?
Thanks!
We've eaten at both for lunch, so my opinion might be off some from what you are looking for. But we really enjoyed both! I personally enjoyed Chefs de France more, but I was a bit sick when we went to Coral Reef and didn't get to enjoy much. The tanks at Coral Reef make for a nice atmosphere, but if you are seated near the windows in Chefs de France you can see out into the World Showcase, which is nice too! I think this is one of those decisions that will be based only on opinion - some will like Coral Reef better, and some Chefs de France! Check out the menus and decide which sounds better to you, because they are both great!
I am eating at Coral Reef, for the first time in Feb. Chefs used to be a never miss for us, but the last couple a trips have been disappointing. The food and the service were not very good. I am probably comparing it to the standards of days gone by, but I will not be eating at Chefs anytime soon.
Coral Reef is my preference. The atmosphere with the tank is lovely plus the food is quite good (mmm, blackened catfish with pepper jack cheese grits + Chocolate Wave!). Chefs de France had very bland cuisine although the service was attentive.
I would pick Chefs de France. I have read very mixed reviews of Coral Reef. At first, it was somewhere I wanted to try, but, then, after all of the mixed reviews, we chose not to try it, haven't thus far. So, must say, I haven't eaten at either, but, if it was me, I'd go with Chefs de France.
Chefs de France!!! We love it! We have been there many times, and always have had a great experience. I love the ambience and the service. The food is delicious. On our last trip this past Feb. I ordered the escargot for the appetizer and the beef tenderloin entree. They were both yummy!
We did not like CR, other than the tanks. We did have a nice table right next to the tank, and enjoyed watching the sea life. However, the food was terrible (except for the chocolate wave dessert), service was just so so and it was extremely loud, and I mean LOUD. Maybe we just had an off night, but we really have no interest in returning there anytime soon.
Chefs de France!!! We had not been to either Chefs or Coral Reef prior to our most recent trip. We LOVED Chefs. The menu has so many things I wanted to try I had a hard time deciding. Everything we ordered was wonderful and the service was excellent. I had the escargot and the duck entree - YUMMO! Coral Reef on the other hand has a very limited menu, especially the seafood options, we ended up a bit disappointed here, with the exception of that fabulous Chocolate wave dessert. We also had to send the steaks back and have them re-cooked as we ordered med rare and got well done.
I like Coral Reef a little bit better. The service is good at both places, but the dessert was amazing at Coral Reef. And watching the fish is very enjoyable.
Over recent years both of these establishment have become hit and miss dining experiences. We normally do Chefs de France but skipped it this year due to a variety of changes couple with our last experience and tried Coral Reef again. Surprisely, this time around we found the food to be improved...serve was still slow...but appears most TS have become this way over the last few years.
