DH and I have never been to either one of these restaurants. I want to try Biergarten, but he's not too thrilled about having to sit with another family, so he wants to go to Chefs de France. In your opinion which restaurant has better food? Also, how many people are seated at the tables at Biergarten?

I think our table at Biergarten sat 8. We had a party of 4 and 2 other people were sat with us...but not until midway through our dinner. It wasn't bad...you're watching the show and back and forth to the buffet area, so its not like you're having to create an awkward conversation.

DH and his friend loved Biergarten. I didn't love either, but for me, Les Chefs was a better value since I don't eat $30 worth of bratwursts. I just didn't care much for the variety of food offered at Biergarten (totally a personal opinion.) The entertainment was great though and probably has a better dinner environment than Les Chefs. In all honesty, its rather cramped at Les Chefs- you'll probably feel like you're sitting just as close to other people as you would in Biergarten!

Well, not quite that crowded. LOL. It is close though.

Hard to compare. Both are very different restaurants. Full service vs buffet, different cuisines, ect.

We've dined at both and had a nice meal at both. I'm not a fan of dining with strangers at the same table and did ask to be seated on the end, and that was ok. I don't think I'd like it at all if we were in the middle with strangers on both sides. :confused3

When dining at Chefs we like order for the table, so to speak. They have a nice salade nicoise, and a very nice charcuterie plate. Add another choice and some wine and you have a lovely meal.

Truly all depends upon what you prefer. ::yes::

(With the ridiculous price increase for the buffets, you'll most likely be better off cost wise at Chefs)!

I would have to picks chefs!!! I wouldn't really want to dine with other families and also we are not big fans of buffet style unless its for breakfast.

I thought Biergarten was the worst restaurant at WDW. We will not go back there.

I am not a socializing with other people on vacation kind of person. I hate that part of B&Bs where you get up in the morning and have to make conversation with a bunch of other people. That said, Biergarten was one of our favorite restaurants last year. We were a party of 4 seated with another party of 4. We made some conversation, but it was not awkward or forced. The buffet was far better than I expected and the entertainment was outstanding. It was on everyone's must-do list for our upcoming trip.

Oooh they are both good. At Biergarten we ended up sitting with some lovely corn farmers from Iowa and they were such fine folk it made the meal so much better. We chatted and drank beer for a long time lol. You just never know who you will meet. Chefs De France is more intimate and quieter. The food is good at both places:thumbsup2

i LOVE German food and music and I really did not like Biergarten.. actually I am being kind. I really HATED it.

My son was 5 at the time though and he really did enjoy it.

everyone is different though. I do not like Crystal Palace either and most people rave about it. you couldn't pay me to go back there EVER. :)

I prefer the food in France over Germany! But the entertainment was better in Germany!!

To me, Biergarten and Les Chefs is like compairing apples and oranges. Different food, different atmosphere, one is a buffet the other is not. So to me they both have their pros and cons.

My girlfriend is not fond of French food and would choose Biergarten over Les Chefs. The atmosphere is a lot of fun and the entertainment is pretty good. I think it matters who you sit with or the type of people you are. On our last visit we sat with a mid-aged couple and another family. The family sat there and didn't say a word. Not to us, not to eachother. It made things kind of awkward. The mid-aged couple were very friendly and a lot of fun. The 4 of us had a great time eating and drinking together.

As far as the food goes, Les Chefs has alright French food and Biergarten has alright German food. IMO, neither of them are better than the other.

I have done both. While I loved both places, if you aren't into sitting with another family, it could be uncomfortable. My family of 3 was seated with one woman and 4 out of control kiddies. It didn't ruin our trip,we actually enjoyed it but others probably wouldn't. I would go with Les Chefs.Slightly Better food too
