I made an ADR last night for dinner tonight, 2 adults. I had my choice of times at booking too. (Made it for opening time.)

Last Saturday night we ate at 9 Dragons. DH said after our meal tonight, that although he enjoyed eating at 9D, Chefs just blew that out of the water for nearly the same amount of $.

We were one of the first dozen tables seated. While waiting we saw them turn away walk ups. I thought it odd because at first seating the restaurant was not even a third full. We figured they must be seating people in stages to accommodate the servers so they could provide good service to the guests. And by the time we left the place was nearly 100% full, if not there.

Our server was very good. Almost too attentive at first as I think we were her only table. She has only been here in the states over two months also. She was VERY excited about being at Disney and loves it. Great enthusiasm. I think some of the nicest, most open servers we have met have been at Chefs.

We each order ice tea to drink, and almost the same food.

They did not have the French menu offer like they use to. Besides their regular menu, they now have quite a selection where you have a choice between 3 - 4 appys, entrees and desserts. Mix and match. $37 pp.

One of choices is their mac and cheese. Really I think it would come out less expensive ordering everything separate rather than as the plan, if ordering that dish.
Our receipt called this "Menu C".

We got the usual one piece each of a crusty French bread roll and hard cold butter patty.

For his appy DH ordered their French onion soup. (Classic onion soup loaded with Gruyere cheese.) Anyone who has had that needs no explanation. It seems to be pretty memorable. I think DH was in heaven.

My appy was the bleu cheese and walnut salad. yummy, and lots of it.

Next, we each had Plat de Cote de Boeuf au Cabarnetavec pates - Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta, pearl onions and mushrooms. We were not sure what to expect.
They were large portions. I have probably more than half sitting in the frig. DH nearly finished all his, but has a small meal portion remaining for his leftovers.
I called it the French version of beef and noodles. More like roast beef. (And yummy.)

Not sure the pasta was freshly made. :confused3 Usually you can tell. It was good, even if it wasn't freshly made. But it may have been.

For dessert -- Vanilla creme brulee and a madeleine, with half a strawberry. (Not sure why only a half. But it was a darn good strawberry. Again, we were each expecting half the size we were served. But we were in heaven and finished every last bite! I think it was the second best creme brulee I have ever had at WDW. (The first being in a Food & Wine Fest kiosk in Canada last year. But that was about a three bite serving for probably half of what a large serving would cost at Chefs. :confused3 )

Again will mention the great service. The food was wonderful.
And to top off our evening we unexpectedly saw a past Adventurer's Club actress pushing Remy the rat around on a food cart and schmoozing with guests.
So to see her alone we will return soon! The food and service is just icing on the cake! :cloud9: :cool1:

Great meal.... Even though I was singing "Those Were The Days" in my head and missing AC all the way home... Time to watch them on youtube again... sigh....

Fitting though that the person who once was Yvette the French Canadian Maid was in Chefs entertaining guests. :lovestruc :thumbsup2
