Chefs de France ?’s

Booked it today :) We had a fantastic meal there last June and are excited to go back. We waddled happily around the world after we left :)

I loved it. We went for lunch and it was wonderful. My sister got the mac and cheese and it was wonderful. My mom got the ham and cheese sammy and it was really good, and I got the quiche lorraine and it was very good. Desserts were great too. Mom got the creme brulee, sis got the caramel apple crepe, and I got the chocolate crispy thingy. All were really good. The service was just ok, but the food was great!!!

We enjoy it there. My favorite appetizers are either the escargots or the french onion soup. My favorite entree has been the beef tenderloin. I had the duck entree last time, and it was also pretty good. We are going to try lunch here for our May trip. We have always had dinner here, so I hope the lunch is just as good.

It was our favorite meal of our trip last month! We had escargot and french onion soup as appetizers, and they were both delicious. DH had the filet, and I had duck, and both were great. Our desserts were fabulous also.

I didn't think it was slow, crowded, or loud. We were among the first seated, though, at 5 PM when the restaurant opened. There were a bunch of people waiting outside to be seated, and when the restaurant opened, the maitre d came out and called a couple who had just been married and had everyone clap for them, then he called DH and me who were celebrating our anniversary and had people clap for us! I heard him calling in other people who were celebrating also as we walked in. It was fun!

Our waiter was also so nice and helpful. He was one of the best we had on the trip.

We ate there in October. It was one of our favorite meals of the trip. The service was a tad bit slow, but the food more than made up for that. The onion soup, creme brulee, and potatoes au gratin were to die for! :lovestruc

is Chefs de France the one that does not take the table settings from the DDP, I know I was told there was one, I forget which one? :confused3

Now that’s a cool atmosphere, and thanks for the pics!!!!

Looks like the soup and the creme brulee are a must!!!

We are hoping to eat here on our trip in August... It's sounding better by the minute.

Same here, as I am not sure why Chefs de France was on the radar in the first place, but now its a MUST!!!!

Oh, we love Chef's de France. The service is a little slow, but the food is very good. My mom loves their flatbread with cream fraiche, onions, and bacon, my husband loves their cheese plate or mushroom flatbread, and I think their best appetizer is the assiette campagnarde, although I have to admit I tried escargots there for the very first time and also enjoyed them. Their lamb shank, short ribs, steak, and duck are really good. As far as desserts my mom loves their apple crepes thingys and the best dessert I've ever had there I didn't see on the menu the last time we went. It had rhubarb, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries in a crust like thing with custard. I swear it was the best dessert I've ever had in my life.

My only problem with them is that I have the same problem there that I do at Rose & Crown. They will not put more than a few cubes of ice in my drink. I want my drink COLD, not cool. I always have to ask for a cup of ice to put in my drink.

Okay, now I'm not even sure why I clicked on this thread. Chefs de France wasn't even on my list of restaurants I was considering for my trip with my DS16 in August. But now that I did, I think this sounds really, really good! We both love onion soup, grilled ham and cheese, and salad, and have been dying to try the creme brulee! So how can I fit this, along with Garden Grill and Le Cellier, into 1 full day at Epcot?! :confused3 :rotfl:

Go 4 dessert! Thats what we are going to do, plus we want to see Remy!

Chefs de France has become our favorite TS in Epcot, we're eating there twice on our next trip. The food is consistently great and our kids love it.

Re the service, I have found that if you tell them up front you are in a bit of a hurry, they will accommodate you. Yes, the French don't generally like to rush their meals. But we've never had a problem. Contrary to other reports, we've had some of our best servers at WDW at Chefs. (We had so much fun with one server--I spoke some French with him--as we left, I shook hands with him and he kissed my wife's hand. It was very gentlemanly and she was pleasantly surprised.)

The tables are close together, just as they often are in France. Just enjoy it!

One thing to try, if you drink wine, are the wine pairings with the lunch entrees. I've sampled some wines there I normally might not have ordered because they were paired with the lunch entree I wanted, and they've always been excellent (enough so that I wrote down the names to buy at home). Also, your kids might like trying Orangina, which is an orange flavored soda very popular in France, instead of milk or lemonade or soda, just for a change.

We are "Americans".:wave2: But... we are in "France".:artist: If someone from France came to America, let's say, to Pennsylvania, and decided to eat at an "Americana Restaurant", let's say "Texas Roadhouse Saloon", and walked in and saw "hunks of meat" laying out in a meat-case, or "scooners of beer" on the tables, or "peanut shells" on the floor... what would they think ? They would think, "this is America", right ? Well... "this is France !"
For those, like me, that have been fortunate enough to have lived in France (over 40 years ago), you already know that this is exactly what a restaurant in France would be like !
And it for that one reason alone, that I try to visit "Les Chefs de France" every chance I get. This is exactly as I remember it... the tables, the service, the escargot... perfect.;)

Thanks all, this is a MUST for us now!!!

I now have it on our ADR list I want the Mac n' Cheese! Thank you everyone.

Mark, I've enjoyed the questions you've raised here lately. And, you're right. You do need to try Chef's. Chef Bruno has been with Chef's ever since it opened, I believe, and Chef's has one of the finest dedicated kitchens on property, they say.

We've never been disappointed. Ever.

Thank you!

I am amazed by the knowledge of my fellow DIS'ers!! This is a rather LARGE database of everything Disney World! Considering this will be our 2nd time to the world, it already feels like I am a vet of WDW!

Les Chefs de France is now a MUST for me and what is funny, is I am not even sure why or what drew me to the restaurant in the first place!!! I was just reading over the MANY upon MANY menus and this one just stood out……….?????

Glad I asked about this place!!! Thanks for your reply!!!

Of all the restaurants I have eaten at WDW, I would put this in my top 3 easily.

Slowness won't bother me at all, it's usually due to the kitchen but if the kitchen is making wonderful food, I can wait an extra 20 minutes. Our waitress was very very very nice and always around even though the kitchen was taking a while to make our food.

I am so glad I went with Chefs... I couldn't decide between it and a couple of other restaurants but I was very happy with my choice.
