Chef Tipping?

Hi,

When calling a WDW restaurant for special meals (vegetarian) would you tip the Chef?

We had an amazing Chef make us a veggie meal at Chef Mickey's a few years ago and he came to our table a few times to make sure we were happy and my husband thought he just kept coming out for a tip (which we happily gave).

Since I have many allergies, chefs sometimes have to modify a meal for me. I have never tipped, but I ALWAYS thank them personally and write to WDW to let them know which Chefs I dealt with and tell them all the good stuff about these chefs.

I would say no. He might not be going that much out of his way to fill your request. WDW probably assumes some people will need different food needs, so they probably have something set up for each restaurant. Also he is being payed to cook already (LOL).

I agree, it's just like he was waiting for something so hubby gave him $10 . I would think they are thrilled to be able to be creative and cook something different for a change. I really wanted to try some restaurants that will be new to us that do not have veggie options already and I didn't want to have to spend extra money tipping if not necessary.
