We are going on the western 7-day in August on the Fantasy. I read a post that mentioned a special chef dinner with a cooking class that you could book. Cost was around $290/person. I cannot find the thread. Does anyone know what I’m talking about and how to book it?

Yes it is called Be our Chef. It is only for 8 people. I think the cost is a bit more than that but I might be wrong. It is on a port day and opens up to Concierge first and is normally filled right away.

Thank you!! It’s our 20th anniversary and I was hoping to book it as a surprise. Sounds like I probably won’t get it as we do not have concierge

What is this exactly? I've never heard of it but it sounds fun. Could you point me in a direction where there's some details? I am sailing in concierge for my honeymoon in January. @pezgirlroy

Thanks so much!

Am I the only one picturing the scene in Father of the Bride (the Steve Martin one) where the guy gave the girl a blender for an anniversary present and she flipped out when I see “cooking class” and “something cool for anniversary or honeymoon” together?

Nice dinner? Yes.
Cooking class? Unless the SO in question is in culinary school, no IMHO.

My husband and I would both love this as a cool thing for an anniversary or honeymoon and we are in our early 40s. :)

So funny! I can just picture it.

Wife: Hey Honey! I signed us up for a great Cooking Class on our Honeymoon Cruise!

Husband: What? You don't like my cooking? You want me to spend our whole marriage in the kitchen tied to a stove? The wedding is OFF!

Wife: Gee, I just thought you like cooking.

That scene in the movie is great. And then Steve Martin has to go and "fix" it, even though he'd love nothing more than to see the marriage torpedoed, or at least he THOUGHT he did, until it happened.

But in this case, I think @FSU Girl will be OK.

LOL well in this case I'm the one who cooks, maybe if my Fiance suggested it I'd say the above. He could learn a few cooking skills it could be helpful in marriage :)

If you can not get into the class another fun thing I heard about but have not done yet is at Remy (Dream & Fantasy) on embarkation day. I believe it is $50, at around 5:30pm and you sign up onboard as soon as you get on at Remy. Sounds like fun!
  • Petites Assiettes de Remy
Embark on a tasting tour of Remy, where you’re invited to feast on small plates of Remy’s gourmet cuisine while savoring fine wine. Offered during the early evening hours on the first day of your cruise, this “tiny plates” dining experience is hosted by Remy’s Executive Chef and Sommelier, who both serve as epicurean guides for your 6-course culinary journey. The unique meal concludes with a distinctive dessert and the final wine pairing in the private Chef’s Table dining room.
