This is my unpopular opinion BUT, I don't understand the bad rap surrounding Chef Mickeys character breakfast. To me it's typical Disney buffet but you get the fab 5. I have never felt rushed or limited with the character interactions. I know there are better options but I definitely don't mind going to Chef Mickeys.

One of our favorites especially when we don’t have annual pass or when we are staying at contemporary!
Whether you will feel rushed heavily depends on the season you go. Whenever it’s very busy, it becomes possible. Otherwise, you might get extra interaction during dances, or even interact more than once if you stay long enough

My only issue with Chef Mickey is we've never been taken at our reservation time. We've gone 3 or 4 times, for a variety of meals, and we have always had to wait 30+ minutes after our reservation time. Maybe we got unlucky each time, which is possible. But I don't tend to have that experience elsewhere.

With that said, beyond that issue, I agree that the food is Disney buffet, great character interactions, etc.

I think if you read enough out here on the posts, almost every Disney restaurant gets 'bad raps' about something! Chef Mickey's is super popular, especially with families. Most folks know it's not a gourmet meal, but I'd be willing to be it's a regular stop for many families when they stay at WDW. Our kids/grkids have great memories there - and they always talk about the character interactions and cast member interactions - not that the waffles were cold or we waited an extra 20 minutes to be seated. CM's has been a great way to start the day when heading to the MK with the little ones!

Chef mickeys for dinner is where it’s at. Where you sit plays a huge role in the meal and I wait extra to get the right spot. The same character dances in the same spot the entire time which is both good and bad. They do really try to churn those tables fast, idk how people go there and are ready to leave within 30-45 minutes. My family has eaten and enjoyed our meal while the tables around us turn over.

These days so many people have sticks up their butts and refuse to enjoy the dance party aspect or at least spin their napkins in the air. I always try to start that trend in my section lol. It’s a fun time. Chef mickeys with kids is great, without kids though I wouldn’t go tbh, but with kids it’s one of my top choices, very nostalgia and the dinner food is pretty good, I wouldn’t go for breakfast though.

The general manager for the contemporary restaurants is also a great guy if you get to meet him, he’s a larger guy and his names Sergio. He wants to see you having fun!!!! When they say get up and dance everyone needs to get up and dance! Fun experience and highly recommend

Yes, I've experienced the same issue but I don't believe we waited that long.

I haven't considered dinner. My kids are young and guaranteed to eat breakfast foods so it's easier just to do breakfast. The value is in the character interactions though so I may venture off and try dinner soon. Thanks!

They have so many options for dinner and the price point isn’t that much more. Less of a rush also or at least I feel less rushed as it ends up being our last activity of the night. Dinner starts at like 5pm there

Just fyi I’m bias since I am not a fan of going out to eat for breakfast and very rarely go to a sit down for breakfast except for like a cruise. With the dining plan it’s one table service a day which I would rather use for dinner vs breakfast.

We love Chef Mickey’s for breakfast! My 12 and 14 year olds requested to go when we were there a few months ago. We always go early and have always been seated at our time.

if you are one of the first reservation times for breakfast or dinner than that should be the case since all the tables are empty

Completely agree. It's really about the characters. No buffet beats Boma anyway!
