well i must preface this by saying that i have never actually gone to the breakfast, although ive heard good things, but i personally LOVE the dinner buffet. the food is SO good. so i would definetely prefer dinner

I've heard great things about breakfast but I'm not a big breakfast person so I haven't tried that yet. But I really enjoyed our dinner :cool1: The food and service were good and the atmosphere is amazing! But I think the atmosphere would be great whenever you go :thumbsup2

Count me in as another vote for Chef Mickey's dinner...we go twice each trip!!! Love it!!

We have been to dinner there twice and have really enjoyed it both times.

We've done dinner, but never breakfast. Wasn't overly impressed by quality of food. I think there is better at other character dining experiences, but definitely recommend trying it at least once if you're a Mickey fan and are looking for good character interaction. Lots of fun. Recommend dining during off hours, if possible.

We've done breakfest (later seating so more like brunch) 2 times.

The food was very good. Everything was right temp and tasted fresh made.
Mickey waffles with strawberries are my favorite but the breakfest pizza was a close second.

(Word of advise - DO NOT LET A 3 yo ORDER A LARGE GLASS OF CHOCOLATE MILK AND DRINK IT ALL AT ONCE. We saw a mom let her two kids do this last time and trust me the aftermath was not a pretty site.)

We love CM, have only been for dinner. We were very impressed with the food. Lots of kid friendly food, plus great choices for adults. And the atmosphere is so fun. We fly out THIS Friday :cool1: and are eating at CM on Saturday night! I like to go the first day of our trip, to start us off right! :thumbsup2
As far as breakfast, we love 1900 Park Fare, which is also a character meal. I read somewhere that they have the largest selection for breakfast buffet. I believe it!!! It was awesome too.

Yucky!! We hated the breakfast. Our food was terrible there were cold mickey waffles and the breakfast pizza wasn't there on the day we went. We had runny scrambled and some blintzes that were undercooked. So avoid avoid avoid..... Now after the breakfast I wouldn't gamble on dinner there- Oh and the service was horrible- the CM that checked us in was all attitude and dirty looks to everyone. We never saw Mickey. He never came into our room- they kept saying he is coming he is coming.... but after an hour we had had enough!

We do dinner every time we go anymore. The kids love it and we think the food is great. I love the parmesan mashed potatos and the ham. Dessert bar is irresistable.

It's good enough we're celebrating our soon-to-be 7 year old DD's birthday there.

The characters have always been great when we've been.

We went for dinner and loved it.

The Characters: Every so often they play Mickey's song, then the napkin wave starts. Each of the characters leads a certain section. It's really cool. All the characters were playful and really enjoyable when we were there. We were in the transition area between the open concourse and the back room. It was a perfect spot. The Characters always did something funny on the way by. They only stopped for a visit on the way from the concourse to the small room.

The food: There isn't a large variety of dishes, but they always have
Ham and Prime Rib. Both of those were excellent and you could get the prime rib MR, Med, and Well. They'd just cut it from a different area. One caveat. Do not take a cut from the last end of the roast. They don't trim it well. But it's a very short wait for the next one.
The Ham was delicious.
When we went they had seafood Penne Pasta which was great and Salmon with a Mango Glaze which was probably the best Salmon we had on the entire property. They had some sort of chicken which was nothing out of the ordinary so I didn't try it. Those that were eating it around us seemed to enjoy it though. We just didn't want to take up all that tummy room with chicken. The Mickey Ravioli was cute but the sauce was rather plain for my tastes. The Mac n Chees and the Pizza was really good as was the Broccoli with Almonds and the other veggies. They had a greens bar with various salads. The Seafood Salad had shrimp and scallops in it. MMMM. It was really enjoyable. It was all to proper temp and changed out well.
The Desert bar was great.
It was all kept clean.
For us, it was well worth the money.

It's more pretty out in the main room with a view of things, but I found we had more fun with the characters where we were simply because our tables were against the kitchen wall and there was open space all the way to the buffet from where we were for the characters to really play around in. Some of the other tables are a tight squeeze for them so about alll they can do is go sign and pose.

Edit. Did I leave out the mashed Potatos? They are really good.

We've done dinner once and breakfast twice - we much prefer breakfast. Contrary to what another poster experienced, everything was hot and tasty, with many, many choices. We saw all the characters at least once, some twice (we were only there for an hour) and our table was by a window that looked out directly at the castle. DD loved it (at age 4 and 5) and we're going again in May. :sunny:

I have to vote for dinner. DD (5) and I love to have dinner. The food is good and the characters are great. We are not big breakfast people - we would rather get to the parks early.

We have done both (breakfast once, dinner three times) and loved both meals. I have never found the food to be anything but hot and fresh. I say pick the meal that works with your schedule! I know this restuarant gets a lot of mixed reviews but we have always been lucky, hopefully you will experience the same!

What hours are considered off hours?
