We are trying to figure out which one we should do, doea anybody think the food is better on one or the other.

We did an early (7:45 a.m.) breakfast back in June on our last day there, and wouldn't recommend that early again. I really never eat before 10, and maybe 'cause it was our last day, we just weren't into the excitement/spirit of CM's. I think lunchtime is better--better food selection (or maybe I'm just more willing to eat "lunch" foods), more awake, more energy...
Enjoy! :flower:

I would definitely recommend the breakfast over the dinner. Last Jan., my dh, dd8 and I had breakfast at Chef Mickey's--the food was typical and the character interaction was great! Last week, we had dinner there for my dd's 9th birthday--the food was pretty lame, and the character interaction was only fair (too many people, I think). I feel that the breakfast is a better deal, and you could make lunch out of it by scheduling a later dining time (I think 11:15 might be the latest).

Good luck with whatever you choose!

CM's only serves Breakfast & Dinner (although I think breakfast goes until about 11:30.)

We had a poor experience at dinner here back in 2001 - overly crowded, crammed into a tiny table between 2 large families & lukewarm & bland food. We didn't return to CM's until 2003 & only because we were staying at the Contemporary.

Since then, we've been eating breakfast at CM's every trip!! We love it for breakfast & always try for the 1st seatings of the day - between 7 - 7:30. The food is nice & hot & fresh & the characters are very interactive. The restaurant is also never full this early in the day - so you usually get more time with the characters. We enjoy this early breakfast before an early morning at the MK. :teeth:

My MIL & family also loves CM's - but they go here for dinner every trip - they seem to really enjoy it. :)

breakfast all the way..it is super duper..

We love CM! We've only done breakfast and it was usually a "flex" feature and the character interaction for us has always been great. That being said, if I had to "pay" for it, I would do dinner. I can't eat that much for breakfast and to me, it isn't worth it. Of course, I only go to these character dinners for the characters...not the food ;)

I'm not a big fan of CM's. The atmosphere at breakfast is a bit frenzied for me, although the food is OK for that meal. Pretty standard WDW breakfast buffet food and quality, it can be crowded with long waits and IMHO it has some of the worst character interaction times.

Dinner is another story. IMHO it's worse than the average school cafeteria food. The quality is poor, the place is always loud and overcrowded. It seems to be much too overstimulating for a lot of kids, and there are meltdown's all around. The character interaction is blink and you'll miss it paced, and even with an ADR you'll wait long past your scheduled time. It's just not anyplace I'd ever suggest. You can do so much better at other charecter dinners.

I agree with the other posters. My favorite is breakfast. We usually try to schedule a late breakfast (the lastest they have is 11:15am) and make it "brunch". Last time we were there we practically had the place to ourselves. And even got photos with our group and ALL the characters together (which is very unusual). It was amazing!!! :cool1:

Here is a pic of the group with all the characters...

I agree completely. The whole room was out of control last time we were there. Folks were bumping in to each other to get to the buffet, the characters hurried from table to table. The food was decent (I love the cheddar breakfast potatoes) but it was really not a great way to start the day. I much rather the slower pace of some of the other meals.
