Originally we were gonna eat at Yatchman's Steakhouse (take up 2 ts credits from our dining plan), but now I'm starting to think maybe we should do the Character Dinner at Chef Mickey's and another meal (maybe Whispering Canyon Cafe) instead. I think it would be fun to do the Mickey character dinner, and we are eatting at Le Cellier the day following Yatchman's Steakhouse.

What do you think, should we skip out on Yatchman's Steakhouse?

Yachtmans Steakhouse is a wonderful experience, and you'll get some really fine steaks there. (I cannot say as much about Le Cellier. We've been there a couple of times and the steaks were dry and grizzly. Blech.) I'd stick with Yachtsman Steakhouse and maybe do something more exotic while at the World Showcase.

I fear "Exotic" is out of the question. When I told my boyfriend we had to make reservations so we had to pick out the restaurants he said to me "well I don't know what I want to eat until that day."

I will offer up different places to eat to him for Epcot, but the reason for not choosing Yatchman's was not because of the food, but because I wanted a character meal, esp one with Mickey.

Definitely go with Yachtsman Steakhouse. Better food, better service, much more enjoyable atmosphere.

The two you have in your title really shouldn't be compared. They are just vastly different experiences. So I'm not going to compare them directly.

If it were me, however, I'd be doing CM's and WCC. You already have Le Cellier which consistantly gets some of the highest ratings on the entire property in surveys.
CM's is just so fun. It was the most fun we had at any character meal. The food is solid, but not spectacular and the characters are really fun. It's an upbeat fun time. I have kids and we wouldn't think of missing this one.
WCC is one of those places I've been meaning to get to but just haven't yet. And it's going to miss again this year. But it sure sounds like good food and good fun. The other place I might consider if you want somewhere on the boardwalk is Spoodles. A really good one credit restaurant.

I'd suggest you do CM's and WCC or CM's and Spoodles over Yachtsman's.
Again though the experiences are just so different.

Tough question 'cause you can't compare the two. My opinion is to go with Yachtsman. If you're worried about steak overload from LeCellier I can understand and in that case choose something else. Chef Mickey dinner is blech! If you dine there plan on leaving hungry. Character interaction at CM is great but the food is just awful IMO!

I have to echo bickers comments. We've been to all 3 restaurants more than once and we have picked Chef Mickey's and the Yachtsman to return to on our upcoming trip. We just had a bad enough experience at Le Cellier to make us not return for a while.
