Hello all! I'm trying to decide where to eat the first night we arrive. We are planning on arriving at the hotel around noon on a Saturday. We'll try to check in, grab some lunch, and head over to the Magic Kingdom (DS is 3 and NEEDS to see the castle :) ) I wanted to do a character meal for dinner to get everyone in the "Disney spirit".

Our two choices are The Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's. We have some picky eaters in our group - a vegetarian (me), and one who doesn't like sauces/seasonings.... which do you think would be our best bet?

We picked Chef Mickey's for our 1st meal on our arrival afternoon for dinner. My dd (9) and ds (11) both wanted Chef Mickey's at some point on our trip and I thought it would be the most "magical"pixiedust: place for our 1st night and 1st family trip to WDW because ds also likes the CR and all the history and the monorail running through the middle of the resort. That is why it is magical. We are staying at the Poly and we can hop on the monorail and head right back to Poly to get to sleep for our 1st full day at the MK and CRT for breakfast in the morning:cloud9: WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooooooooo excited for this trip:cheer2: Goodluck to you but for me personally, I think the most magic would be CHEF MICKEY'S. You are in MOUSEWORLD:mickeyjum

Chef Mickeys is our traditional 1st night dinner.

Dh and myself love it just as much as the kids( 9 and 4) .

It definetly gets you in the Disney mood.

For food, I prefer Crystal Palace. Characters are great, too! :thumbsup2

I'm a very picky eater--no sauces, minimal seasoning, foods not mixed together--and there was a terrific selection at CP.

Chef Mickey's is fun, though, and a good choice if you don't want to enter a park your first day.

For excitement and fun I'd go with Chef Mickey's. Lots of energy and sets the mood for the week.
