We have 2 non-park days built into our 12 day trip. I'm wondering if it would be best to use a non-park day for our chef mickeys dinner?

This will be the only character meal we are planning, and I was thinking since we wouldnt be in the park, we could go about our day, lazy day at the resort, maybe some shopping, and then go to the Contemporary for Chef Mickeys?

Since this is our first trip, I'm not sure if DD's can handle a park day, and then an exciting meal all in the same day!

Your thoughts?

Brandy

I'm doing something similar in May - I'm planning to book a PS at CM for the night we arrive (we'll actually be arriving at @ 10am). So I figure we can hang out a bit at the hotel then have dinner at CM.

On our last trip we did a Chef Mickey's breakfast on a non-park day. It worked out really well for us. It should be fine for you as well.

That's a great idea for a non-park day. If you only plan on doing one Character Meal...that's the one to do. :) It's pure Disney (it's next to MK, in the CR with the monorail running through, with Mickey & Minnie...what more could you want ;) ). If I could only take someone on their 1st trip to WDW to one character meal...that's the one I'd choose. Have a great trip. :)

ditto to what everyone else said....ive done chef mickeys quite a few times....and it's a must do for every trip for my family!! have fun!

i've done chef mickey both ways - we did it before going to the park and then took the monorail right it - it worked out great BUT
last year we did chef mickey on a non park day and it was much more relaxing.
you can get a later seating without stressing that you are missing park time - we did that on one of the weekend days since the park tends to be more crowded and then headed back to the pool for a day of relaxing and everybody was happy.

we are going with this plan again in april!!
have fun - its a great character breakfast

I'm doing that as well. On Saturday I am doing a later seating at CM's for breakfast so we can take our time in getting there. Then we are going to the Lagoon side of the Contemporary, and we are taking my DS out on the water mice for a fun filled late morning. Then we'll just hang out and head back to the BWV. It's a perfect nonpark day. So enjoy and maybe we'll see you there. Take care!

I LOVE CHECK MICKEYS!!!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

It's such a blast and definite must do for a Disney trip. We did Chef Mickey's on a non-park day. We had breakfast reservations at around 9:30. We took our time eating and enjoying the atmostphere. Then we went to the Boardwalk that afternoon and rented the 4-seater bike and worked off our breakfast! :teeth:

And then we rented the little Mickey boats, which was also so much fun. Now, I am all excited!!! I can't wait until my May trip!! Have fun!

Brandy, I think that you have a great idea. We love Chef Mickey's for dinner but I do think that you will all enjoy it a lot more when you're not tired and have been to the parks all day.
