We will be at WDW Nov 12 - 18. It will be me (37 on the 18th), Hubby, 42, son 9 and daughter 6. My daughter is in to characters but my son isn't. We have planned:

Dinner in the Castle
Sci-Fi
Le Cellier
Mama Melrose's
1900 PF- Cinderella's Gala Feast

I am debating about either Chef Mickey's or Whispering Canyon. I prefer the menu at Whispering Canyon. Will WC be a lot of fun for the kids? We are a meat and potatoes kind of family.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

My kids love CM...we have done it 3 times. It is buffet, so you pick what you like. The WC looks great (I would think your food might be a little warmer, and you can pick a meal you like-but I haven't eaten there yet-). SO for me the choice would come down to Do you want to do a Character Meal? If you have no other character meals planned for your trip, then I would say CM...it is so great the characters all come around give hugs, lots of photo ops, and just a great time(not quiet). We like to do it as a brunch and go for one of the last breakfast times. But I think you could do WC on the next trip when perhaps you DD isn't into the characters as much.

My thought is that, having been to both several times, that CM might get your DS no longer into characters "into" them again! MY boys loved seeing Donald and Goofy and the interaction has always been great for us.

Food - well, everyone is saying CM's food is going down, but it IS a buffet and there are plenty of selections to please everyone. I think my mom even preferred CM over WCC when we were there in the past.WCC's food is more than adequate, too.

Now - if you have never been to WL, WCC is worth a visit just to see it!The shenanigans are something you have to be in the mood for, and it can feel a bit more chaotic sometimes.

I say try CM and see what happens to the 9 y/o!!!

I went ahead and booked WCC for my birthday. I may change it to CM, but I am still not sure.

I know some people love planning thier Disney trip, but it just drives me nuts! This is our first trip and I can't wait until it gets here just so I can stop planning. I have changed my ADR's so often it's crazy!

I change mine often too. I love WCC. We have had so much fun there. Iwent on my B-day too. Since you have 1900 parke fare with the characters, Wcc goes well. Your son will enjoy it. It is good kid fun and good food too.

we were there last week of sept and ate at both WCC and CM. I would say overall, food and activity that I would recommend CM. The food and WCC was hit and miss, while CM concensus was meal was better and kids loved the characters. We also ate at Ohana and Jiko to give you a little flavor of our taste. JOHO

We had a GREAT time at WCC. I thought the food was very good too. My husband loved the pulled pork. It's all you can eat, so of course he asked for more.

It's a very lively place and alot of fun. My 7 year old daughter loved it. Here she is during the pony ride time.

I say WC would be fun :). Yes, CM has character meal, but WC has some games that the kids can get up and play with other kids. I have eaten there many times for breakfast, and the food is wonderful! I have never really been to CM, so I don't know what it is like, but hope this helped you out :).
