My wife and our two daughters have been to Chef Mickey's and enjoyed it greatly. During Christmas week, I am down to 1 reservation to make for Breakfast, and it's between these two. We have never been to O'hana's, and it's also will be my parents first time at WDW.

Also, the only other catch is that O'hana is only available on the 1st day we are there (check in day). We will be getting in around midnight the night before, and staying off grounds. So we will have to get up early, check in to the Pop, and then goto breakfast all before 8:30 am (unless I go with a 10:30 ressie), but then we will have less time at MK.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, we already have meals reserved at CP (Bfast), Tusker House (Bfast), and Akershus (bfast)

While I love Ohana for bfast and think that lilo and stitch adn the food/environment are great- I would stress over a meal like that and lose sleep/need to rush just to eat a meal. Not worth it IMO. I would rather grab food quickly and spend that extra hour getting to a park early.

I agree with the previous poster. It seems extremely stressful for a first day to try and get up, get to the resort, get checked in, and then go to another resort for breakfast.

Based on that, I'd say either go with Chef Mickey's or have the 10:30 time at Ohana (assuming it's still there) be your built in "down time" during a park day - it would also likely mean you wouldn't have to stop for lunch somewhere as late as the reservation is.

I'd also recommend to keep checking. People often have multiple reservations and decide later which to cancel. We're going to Chef Mickey's over our Christmas vacation - I love Ohana and probably would have chosen that, but my dad really doesn't like Stitch (he's just not a fan), so we're going with the Fab Five.

We like 'Ohana over Chef Mickey. To us, the food is much better at 'Ohana and it is served family style. You don't have to get up to get your breakfast. You are waited on!!! I love Stitch too.

Also at 'Ohana, you don't feel the floor shaking like you do at Chef Mickey because of the monorail. 'Ohana seems to be a bit more relaxed and quieter than CM.

I'm in the minority here and voted for Chef Mickey's. We've done Ohana before and even though we found the food to be good, the dining experience with the characters left a lot to be desired. Plus we do enjoy the high energy of CM too and just love the CR! It would be very difficult to get there that early if you're going to be getting in late too. Maybe you could keep checking back for Ohana since you still have some time before you leave. You never know what might open up.

Good luck!

Voted for O'hana... we much prefer Chef Mickey's for dinner over breakfast, and the characters interaction has always been great at O'hana when we have been there.

They are both excellent breakfasts but I would rather go to Ohana and have the food brought to me!! You can also order pressed pot coffee from Kona, they will bring it to you no prob....and fresh pineapple bread, YUM!
