Trying to decide which breakfast to book. :confused3

We definitely want a breakfast with Mickey this trip (have been to Tusker already). I would appreciate help from those that have been to both. Which has the best character interaction, food, etc. We have 2 adults and 8 year olds.

Thanks!

I'd choose 'Ohana mainly because I much prefer family-style meals than eating at a buffet. Why serve myself when I can have somebody serve me? ;)

The food at both restaurants is comparable, so I don't think that should affect your decision too much. I'm recommending 'Ohana for the style of service and the atmosphere at the Polynesian.

:)

We've found Ohana to be much more relaxed that CM's. The family style eating is very nice, especially if one is juggling little ones. The character interaction was much better at Ohana as well and they seemed to spend more time at each table. There was no sense of being rushed, and it wasn't nearly as loud. CM's feels like an echo chamber at times!

We've been to both many times and like them both equally :). As a pp mentioned, Ohana is served family style, so that is a plus if you like to be served at your table rather than go up to a buffet ;). But they are both great, IMO :goodvibes.

I cannot say enough bad things about Chef Mickeys, that place is horrible. Food choices sucked, the quality of the food was crap, and it wasnt even warm! It was lukewarm! The atmosphere reminded me of a school cafe. So loud too! I would never go back. But OHANA, aaaaaaah, that place is like heaven! The atmosphere is beautiful, the food is simple yet TO DIE FOR, yummy! pineapple bread and the juice are yummy enough to get me to keep going back! The characters are great too. I just love this place.

Jumping on the bandwagon and going with Ohana!:thumbsup2 I like the family style, so you're not getting up for a buffett with small children, and you can all eat together at the same time. The food all comes out hot and fresh. The parade is fun and the kids loved it.

As others have said, the buffett at CM is hit or miss and can be lukewarm at times. I have missed characters while at the buffett, which is frustrating and they also weren't as attentive as at Ohana. As a plus, CM does have the fun, napkin waving song that the kids love.

We also just tried Tusker House on our last trip and loved it. Even though it is a buffett, the choices were different, and the juice was awesome. The character parade was great too. This is my new favorite character meal.:lovestruc

'Ohana is EONS better.

What she said :goodvibes

We like the food, the service, the character interaction, and the fact that the food is served family style over at 'Ohana. We have eaten at CM twice and are just not fans.

Can someone run down the usual characters at Chef Mickey's breakfast and Ohana's breakfast? Obviously, Ohana's has Lilo and Stitch. Which characters appear at CM that aren't at Ohana's?

We've done both and we preferred Ohana. For some reason the atmosphere at Chef Mickey's seemed more tense and rushed while the atmosphere at Ohana seemed more laid back.

The characters for Chef Mickey's are generally Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald. While it's Mickey (in his Hawaiian shirt), Pluto, Lilo and Stitch at 'Ohana.

This is what my research showed, so thanks for confirming. A cousin of mine is comparing the two restaurants. I'm suggesting that if seeing Minnie, Goofy, and Donald are a must, that they can all be seen at EPCOT, MK, and AK. Thus, if you're comfortable with the menu at Ohaha, then Ohana is the choice.

Been to both and Ohana's food is better. I looooooooooved it. The atmosphere is better and interaction is great!!! You will love it. They do a cute little line dance that gets all the kids involved.

Another vote for Ohana. The atmosphere is so much better and a lot more relaxed. Plus there is Stitch :stitch:

And the food is pretty good too.

Guess I have to be the dissention... We did not like Ohana's for breakfast at all...DH said he won't ever go back there. Our food was NOT hot, in fact, it was kinda cold and congealed scrambled eggs. Our server was inattentive, and when we asked for new food it took so long for her to come back! We were so bored just sitting there with nothing to eat while everyone around us was eating. The kids did enjoy Lilo & Stitch, they were fun to interact with, but we went out to lunch within an hour of leaving the restaurant. We fared much much better at Chef Mickey's because there was more choice than just the skillet at Ohana's - everyone found something to their liking.

Have been to both a couple of times-as others have stated, food is family style at O'Hana's and buffet at Mickey's. We really enjoy O'Hana's because of the nice setting, calmness, great character interaction, and good food. Chef Mickey's is VERY loud and chaotic comparably. I am sure your kids will enjoy either one with the characters. Have a great time with whichever you choose. We will be at O'Hana's in September.:)

We went to Chef Mickeys for dinner on our first night last time we were at WDW. We liked it and the kids had a great time. That said though, it is loud and kinda chaotic. Would love to try Ohana's next time :goodvibes

mom and dad choose Ohana, thought the food was way better, much calmer, love family style.
Kids choose Chef Mickeys. They love the buffet and fun atmosphere.
This year Chef Mickeys for them, next year, ohana for us! =)
