For our first family character meal for little girls. Do you recommend Chef Mickeys or Garden Grill for experience and food?

Here's some info that I *hope* will help you make your decision:

Chef Mickey's is buffet-style while Garden Grill brings food to you family-style.
Chef Mickey's is loud, frenetic and has a lot going on (music, napkin-waving, people going to the buffet, characters weaving in and out). Garden Grill is a bit quieter and more calm. Also, you should know that Garden Grill very slowly rotates as you're eating. We had no issue with this, but my mom felt seasick. (Of course, it could have been all in her head. Mom's prone to fits of "mom-ness" sometimes.) :lmao:

The characters at Chef Mickey's are all wearing chef hats/aprons and at the Garden Grill they're dressed like they're on the farm.

At CM's you'll meet Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Minnie...and I *think* Pluto (can't remember - someone jump in and verify, please!)

At GG you'll meet Chip & Dale, as well as Mickey...and I can't remember the others.

The nice thing about GG is that the tables are booth-style, so when they come around, it's a little easier to get pics without loads of strangers in the background. Not that this is terrible, but we've had a few interesting photo bombs. :rotfl:

Hope this helps!

At GG, you will see Mickey and Pluto with Chip and Dale.

The last time we were at Chef Mickey's was terrible. The food, the noise level, the crowd. We even saw a lady take her dirty plate up to the buffet, put a rib on the plate and then put it back. :crazy2:

I would agree that GG is more subdued. If the girls are shy, this is the way to go.

If not, Chef Mickeys is the place to PARTY!

Also, I have seen on the boards that GG is not rotating now, I thought it was really fun to see the scenery going slowly by. But it would still be fun.

We've been to both (Chef Mickeys many times) and while we did enjoy Garden Grill, my choice would be Chef Mickeys. The food has always been good during our visits and the atmosphere/characters are fun.

Thanks everyone! What is the best time of day to go to Chef Mickey's? Right now, I have an ADR for dinner at Chef Mickey's (and one for GG). Are breakfast and dinner equally busy/crazy? Thanks :)

In our experience, both breakfast and dinner have been equally busy.
