Chef Mickey's or Donalds Safari Breakfast?

The vote was for Donald's Safari at the top of the post and then she explained that the food and interaction were better at DS than at CM..
I agree 100% - I am really amazed that people love CM...must have burned their taste buds at a young age!
DS is great food, atmosphere and character interaction..and, as a previous poster said, you're already in the park.
We make our ADR's for 8 am...have a very relaxing breakfast, and then we're on the very first truck for safari to say good morning to the animals!

Ahhh, thanks! I didn't post a poll with this thread so i had no idea which one she was referring to.:thumbsup2

Donalds Breakfast Safari is Excellent.
The food was great as well as the Character interaction.
I just loved the Exotic Atmosphere and also seem much less noisy.
The juice they serve is delious and they had really good coffee (didn't taste like the Nescafe" junk--
I asked for seconds).

We've never had good luck at Tusker House: poor character interaction/very rushed & we don't care for the atmosphere - cramped seating in a small room. Chef Mickey's breakfast is a favorite of ours. We've always had good character interaction with the Fab 5, the breakfast buffet is pretty good, and we enjoy the bright/open/fun atmosphere.

^^^ This is not the case at all. Chef Mickey's has the following characters: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. While Tusker House has the following characters: Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy.

Whoa!:scared1: Guess I should've said 'essentially the same characters'... didn't think I was gonna get graded with a red pen for it.

Okay for us this is a 6 of one/half a dozen of the other issue. The food at Tusker house is much better, but the atmosphere at CM is more fun. With the music and towel twirling....

We've been to both. I would recommend:

CM if characters are most important, the food is

Donald's Safari if the food is most important, the food is awesome but you only get to meet 3 characters (pictures and autographs) and just a picture wth Donald.

Thanks for the feedback! I was doing research for our upcoming trip and making my ADR's and I was trying to decide on a breakfast.

DD loves Donald Duck just as much as Tinkerbell, so I'm sure she'll enjoy this breakfast.

we hav done both and hands down we choose donalds tusker house over chef mickey!! The food is better, the characters are better, the atmosphere is better and feels cosier!! We also book first thing so that we get into the park right at opening!!! last time a man even performed a mini show while we waited to get into the park!! It was awesome!!!

Tusker House, hands down.
We did breakfast there the trip before last and loved it. We did dinner that trip at CM and it was just ok, chaotic though. This trip, we did breakfast at CM thinking it would be better... it wasn't. The food was ok (although I liked TH better), but we were there 30 minutes before seeing one character. After that they came out one after the other, but it just seemed like such a long wait.
Also, I don't like all of the decorative stuff they had up across the windows at CM. I thought I remembered looking out at having a nice view through those huge windows last time. This time most of it was blocked off by giant artwork.

My vote is for Donald just for the food. There are many dishes that are off the radar for most bfast buffets like bobotie, which is the best bfast food ever! And don't get me started on the juice!!!! The reason it doesn't seem to flow as well as other buffets because there isn't a line- there are pods or stations for the food. That way it flows better. Don't yell at someone if you think they are jumping the line. They may not be.

It's also great since it's so close to the Safari attraction.

^^^ My comment wasn't intended as put down in any way. It was simply to clarify as one never knows what the OP's family favorite characters might be. If they are big fans of Minnie, they'll miss her at TH. If they are big fans of Daisy, they'll miss her at CM. Here's a peace offering...:flower3:

Thanks for the flowers!...and the explanation :yay:

I think the food at Tusker House is so much better then the food at Chef Mickeys. The service is better there too.

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread. We used to be staunch Chef M's lovers. But the last time we ate there will be the last for a while. The servers were even more rushed and ours looked like he ahd been ridden hard and put away wet (and it was only 30 minuets into service!) and the food was poor at best. In our opinion. The last time we at at Donald's it was before it moved to Tusker House and we weren't thrilled then either. But I'm not sure it's even possible to get excited about any breakfast. With all the enthusiastic reviews and us wanting one character breakfast we haven't done or done in a while, we're going to do that. :goodvibes

Our first character breakfast was at the Tusker House. Loved it, the food was good, characters where fun, DD loved the dancing with Mickey, didn't feel rushed at all. Last Dec. We tried Chef Mickey's. It was ok. The food was ok, the characters where fun, we felt very rushed. We were there for 40 mins. I asked DD where she want to eat in Sept. And she choose Tusker House. I reminded her that Minnie won't be there and she was bummed but said thats ok Daisy will be. So I guess my five yr old voted for Tusker eHouse. As do I.

:earboy2:I like Chef Mickey's better. We go everytime we go to Disney . Last time had a group of 26 people . Grandma was dancing with Mickey . What a Pic that made !

We've done both and I prefer Chef Mickey's. I think the atmosphere is better, more lively. I actually enjoy the wide selection of food and feel it is quite good. Enjoy!
