my family and i have an ADR for 1900, but now we are second guessing ourselves :scared: we aren't sure if dinner there is good or not, and are wondering if chef mickey's would be better...any suggestions? :confused3

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner???

I have been to 1900 Dinner and the food was great with wonderful character interaction! Prince Charming sang Happy Birthday to my DD6 and kissed her on the cheek twice  (she had just turned 5 at the time) and she posed for pic w/Cinderella & Mice (each individually). They gave her the 1900 Park Fare placemat with all the character signatures on it...we still have that too!!!

We are going in Aug/Sept and have BOTH :rolleyes1 Chef Mickey & 1900 Park Fare scheduled as breakfasts. We have never been to Chef Mickey.

I think it would be more of a decision of which characters you will want to see...1900 has Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Cinderella, Prince Charming and a couple more I think. Since my DD6 wanted to see Mickey, we scheduled Chef Mickey for a surefire meet and greet!!!

We went to both in Dec 2007. We went to Chef Mickey for dinner the day we arrived thinking it would be a great introduction to the characters before hitting the parks the next day. I wasn't super impressed with the food but I am glad we went. Before stepping foot into the parks my kids already had pictures with Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and Minnie. 1900 Park Fare was a favorite among every member of our family. Everyone liked the food, the service was great and the character interaction was some of the best we had ever seen. When we went it was Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Step Mother and 2 Step Sisters. If I had to pick only one dinner it would be 1900 Park Fare. Better food and less chance of seeing all of those characters in the parks. Pretty much 100% guarantee you will see the main 5 in Magic Kingdom alone.

thank you very much! we're going to definitely keep our ADR for 1900! Now I'm excited! Saves a lot of time meeting the characters there rather than waiting in line forever and waisting time in the parks!

1900 was our first and favorite meal of our Thanksgiving trip. Dd8 barely eats, but got several plates of food here. And the characters were wonderful! One of the step sisters got her up in front of the restaurant and had her throw her stuffed animal to her (she took baby Simba from our previous trip) as she sang (horribly by the way!)!!! It was a wonderful night!

We did Chef Mickey's and enjoyed it as well, but enjoyed 1900 more.

DisneyDancin7 - one of the main reasons we did so many character meals this past trip was to avoid having to stand on long lines waiting for a picture and signature. If the line wasn't long we stood on line but if we saw there was a 40 minute wait we just went on a ride knowing we already had a picture of Cinderella, etc. My daughter was dressed up as Cinderella the night we went and everyone made a big deal of it - we have some great pictures of her with Prince Charming!

We just recently ate at 1900 and LOVED it!

we were first greeted by Prince Charming (shoud have seen my DD5 eyes light up)

They were all announced and came out and slowly made their way around the restaurant
WE LOVED LOVED LOVED the step sisters they were loud and HYSTERICAL!
Druzella screamed across the room to a guy saying he was her prince she ran to him and made of him... it was great!
I laughed and so didnt my daughter
SO MUCH FUN!

My daughter was chosen by the prince for a dance.... so sweet i even cried!
Anyway i wouldnt miss this meal i cant wait to go back in a few years!
this will be a must for our family!

Oh yea.... they did have food there...haha!
It was yummy!

YEA 1900 Park Fare - the food is Grand Floridian, Prime Rib, Strawberry soup, etc etc...
the new character interaction is purported to be wonderful, those wiley stepsisters dont like it if you tell them to be nice to Cinderella!!

We have 1900 booked for our next trip, but for breakfast. The characters at dinner sure sound fun! Hopefully we'll have just as much fun at breakfast with the different characters.

I had dinner at chief mickeys in december loved how the kids had mickey and everyone come over and they even spent a little more time with my youngest when we was there it was great but the food wasnt...How ever with that being said i only had breakfast with them at 1900 but i loved everything about it:) We are also going back agian in December and the only way im going to go back to chief mickeys is because my soon to b old man told me that there is no way anyone could mess up breakfast but im still not sold on it.

i have had the dinner and breakfast with the characters to be honest i like it better in the mornings i my self how ever If you want more of a one on one with them i would recommend a late dinner because cause there isnt as many people out i did that and it was great but after dinner and everything when we did make itback to our rooms our kids did not want to go to sleep because they was so excited about meeting mickey at dinner. But it was great i even got my pic taken at dinner with mickey lol but brealfast is best cause they can get excited and it wont matter they have the whole day to go go go lol

We loved 1900. Any buffet for a family with children is great. It makes life so much easier when they don't fuss over food. I thought 1900 had a great selection.....and a nice atmosphere too.

We did breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and thought it was good. Its less chaotic than Chef Mickeys. If you do dinner, you can make a real nice evening because there is a piano player and the Society Orchestra in the lobby of the Grand Floridian. My DD2 loved the piano player. The food at breakfast was good - liked the strawberry soup and mickey waffles.

Chef Mickey's is more "fun", but since you are a group of adults the food will be more important than the atmosphere so 1900 should be a good choice.

We've been to Chef Mickey's numerous times and are doing it again this Sept. We are also scheduled at 1900 Park Fare for dinner. Does Cinderella and company come around for pictures?

sounds like we made a good choice! thanks everyone! :goodvibes now i really want food!
