Chef Mickey's open for lunch during Free Dining

Thank you to DisneyFuntrips for telling on another thread that they made a ressie in Aug. for lunch at CM.

I wanted dinner while we were there but could only find breakfast open for the three days I tried. Then I saw the post about the lunch and decided to call.

A very helpful CM said it was only open for breakfast or dinner. I said, uh, that's strange, my friend said they made a ressie for lunch. The CM put me on hold and said yep, I was right.

So......I got a lunch ressie..........ok, still not dinner but we really didn't want breakfast so I'm thankful. The CM checked for me and said it looks like they added lunch Aug. 16th - 29th..........I didn't ask about Sept. so I don't know about that. Lunch goes until 2:30pm I think she said.

I know they've done this before during free dining.........anyone know what the menu is like? Do you think they would have the mashed potatoes? Probably not,huh?

I'm still happy.

****edited to add: I'm sure it's for all of the Free Dining period though she only told me to the 29th. I don't even know why she said the 29th to me since we check out the 28th but there you have it. In the past I think it's been available for the whole time, right?

We are going in June. Does anyone know if they have it then? DH thought they were offering free dining in June. I didn't think they were. Thanks. DEbby

I too booked for lunch today. I got my ADRs yesterday but wound up with a 8:00 pm at Chef Mickey which i wasnt too happy about. I called several times up to this morning and again no earlier dinners, then the CM told me they just added lunch so i picked the 2:15. I was very happy as this works out so much better for us now. I can go to the MK later on in the early evening, see the parade, etc.....and it doesnt put a damper on my plans now.
If you call and they say there is no lunch tell them there is because i spoke to two CM first one mentioned it too me but her computer crashed put me through to another and she told me it wasnt avail but then checked and it was.

We'll be there 9/8 - 9/15 and I'm really hoping we can get lunch at Chef Mickey's sometime then!

Last year when we went they offered lunch. If was a totally different buffet. It was all bbq, we saw the menu so we didnt do lunch. You might want to try to get a hold of the resturant or hotel or something if you want to make sure

This is so wild......I've seen so many different posts on this.......some say, same buffet, ........some say, .......bbq......some say, ......a mix between bbq and some of the dinner choices. Too funny!

And some love the dinner and some hate it.....so I guess I'll just be thankful that I got a lunch time.
