Hi. I called Disney Dining to trade my Boma for Chef Mickeys but they had no openings except for lunch, so I booked that (and kept Boma too!). Anyone have a review of the lunch buffet at CM? I've used the search feature but can't pull up anything recent. TIA. Brenda

This is my first trip to WDW and I really wanted to get an ADR for dinner at Chef Mickey's. When I called I was told that the day I was looking at was booked for breakfast and dinner but that they had a 2:20pm lunch table available. I was happy with that as we are planning on taking a break at about 2 for lunch anyway.

Something struck me as odd about a lunch ADR for Chef Mickey's but I couldn't quite place it. Now I know what my problem was. All of the books, websites and even the Disneyworld website all state that Chef Mickey's is only open for Breakfast and Dinner.

I've talked to many people who've been to Chef Mickey's before and they are all surprised about getting a lunch booking. I'm definitely hoping that they have changed their hours, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see what you find out.

2 weeks from today and I'll be there.

Hi. We had lunch at Chef Mickey's on Tuesday and it was really good. The food was more limited than at dinner but I've now decided that I prefer the character meals at lunch (and of course they aren't always available now that I have decided I prefer that time of day, lol). There were five characters who came around just like at dinner. The main offerings were ribs, ravioli, and salmon, all were very good, the soup was italian wedding, salads were good (spinach/regular/and all the fixings) and kids was pizza, nuggets, mac and cheese. Unlike dinner buffets, I didn't feel the need to stuff myself :confused3 but instead ate alot lighter. I find that I am too tired at 7 or 8 pm to put up with the commotion of character meals and prefer to sit with a cocktail (or 3) that time of night at a more relaxed dinner. I also liked leaving MK for the 2 hours and going back, the monorail making it so easy...

I highly recommend the lunch CM buffet. If you can get reservations, I'd go for it.

I'm glad to hear you liked it; we have ADRs there for lunch next week. I was told there would be sandwiches, penne pasta with chicken, and lasagna. Did they have those choices? They're the ones I was interested in. Also, did they have those cute little desserts with the Mickey ears? TIA! :)

Truthfully, I do not remember sandwiches or lasagna but I'd probably overlook the sandwiches or maybe they were near the kids dishes. No lasagna (I would have noticed) but pretty good ravioli and YES, there was a penne pasta with sauteed vegetables that was excellent -- almost forgot about that. Desserts with Mickey ears -- don't remember that either. There were a variety of cookies, cheesecake, brownies, carrot cake, and of course, the ice cream bar.

Thanks!! :)
