How is the dinner at Chef Mickeys? I know the character interaction is great...but how is the food itself? Would you recommend it?
Thanks.

In my opinion, the food is very good. Not the best, but it most certainly is not bad and is definitely worth the price! And the overall experience is fantastic as well.

(The desserts are really good too..)

When we were there last May the salad and desserts were good, but the rest of the food was really bad (so bad my MIL got sick- luckily she was fine by the next morning). Worse than that, the place was filthy and we weren't even there that late in the dinner service. It was so bad that as we walked DH took one look at the floor and whispered to me "Are we really going to eat food here?". We aren't that picky either. I watched a kid drop the tongs from the chicken on the floor and stick them back in the chicken. His horrified mother told a server. If the server replaced the chicken or the tongs, I didn't see it happen. We won't ever eat at Chef Mickey's for dinner again. I was so looking foward to it too. The characters and our server were great, but as far as eating there-- yuck.

We had dinner there once and it was horrible foodwise but breakfast was awesome

I have to agreee. We've been multiple times, and the food at breakfast is definitely better.

On our last trip, Chef Mickey was the worst food on the whole trip, and my DH and DD said that they don't want to go back on our next trip. It's a shame because the character interaction is so great.

We just ate their exactly one week ago and we really enjoyed it. The restaurant was very clean and so were the bathrooms. Everyone enjoyed the food - quite yummy. We were quite surprised considering all the bad talk about it here. Our character interaction was wonderful as well.
My kids and my nephew all ate extremely well and so did all the adults. Can't beat the desserts :woohoo:

We had a very good experience 2 weeks ago. The food was very good, infact in the top 3 of the places we ate at.
I would recommend it to people.
We went around 5ish so that may make a difference, don't know.
But I wouldn't let other's opinions keep me from it.

We enjoyed CM in September. Not the best buffet at WDW but certainly not the worst. As PP said the desserts were amazing!

We were just at Chef Mickeys for dinner 2 weeks ago. We thought it was very good. But we have always loved it there despite the continued bad reviews on here.

For us its a must do for our 1st night every trip.

We just had dinner there on the 9th. The character interaction was fun...a great way to start our vacation. The food was average at best. We didn't leave hungry ( I loved the mashed potatoes) but I wouldn't hurry back.

Our last trip, we went to Chef Mickey's for dinner....we had never been, and everyone was just raving about it....well, we thought it stunk! We got a crappy seat way in the back corner (which in itself is no big -deal) but, the place was messy, the characters were almost non existent, and the buffet was just gross. The food was cold, and again, the buffet was sloppy with food all over the place and some things were empty, etc. We enjoyed every other place we went to eat while at disney, including the walk up counters...but, I will never ever ever go back to CM....

Unfortunately, I agree with you completely. We went to Chef Mickey's for dinner this past October. Food was mediocre at best. Buffet was messy. Character rushed through so quickly that we barely saw them. I would recommend Crystal Palace for dinner instead. The food and the character experience is much better.

LOL! I agree with you back! We LOVED crystal palace! The characters were at our table SO much that I wanted to shoosh them away so we could eat (LOL..I wouldn't dare, though - dd loved winnie!!!;) because the food was excellent!

Too bad about Cm's!! People pay too much to get this type of bad experience!!!

Good luck!

We were just there a few weeks ago for dinner.........the food was ok, nothing spectacular though. I would eat there again, but it's not on the top of my list.

Chef mickeys dinner is one of my favorite meals on property!

We love Chef Mickey's- its a tradition for us to go everytime we go to Disney. We do prefer dinner over breakfast- the food is OK- just seems like a regular buffet- but the character interaction is great!!!

We ate at Chef Mickey's for the first time this past August. I was looking forward to great character interaction and a good dinner. I didn't get either. The characters stopped very briefly at our table and didn't interact with us much.

The salad and breads were okay. The hot food was not even what I would categorize as being okay. Some were just plain yucky. There was food dropped on the floor that wasn't cleaned up the entire time we were there. We were in the restaurant over an hour and our waitress came by twice and one of those times my husband had to wave her over.

Needless to say, we won't be going back for dinner.
