Help!! I called for ADR for Chef Mickey's and I was all set to book a breakfast for my family... the CM on the phone said dinner was a better choice- better food, more characters.. Is this true because I never heard anyone going for dinner...

I disagree. I went for dinner and was disappointed with the good. And the character interaction was the same as breakfast (which is still very good!).

But all in all I'd say get the breakfast if you have a choice. If you don't have a choice, I'd would do the crystal palace for lunch/dinner instead of chef mickey's if you're looking for that kind of environment.

we have never been and our dd is 2. I was told Chef Mickey's was the place to go.... Now I wish I book breakfast.

We took our DD to dinner at Chef Mickey's for her 1st birthday and we really enjoyed it. We thought the character interaction was great. The characters that we saw were Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Chip. Chip was in the entrance area and didn't come around to the tables. The food was fine. Nothing spectacular, but we didn't think it was bad.

i have been to Chef Mickey for dinner it was GREAT... loved the interaction with characters and the food was great... you will get a lot of responses just go by what you like to eat more of... bkft or dinner....either way they both have ALOT of food...

For us, six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Breakfast seemed a bit more of a madhouse, than dinner.

But the food was good at both, and I'd say the character interaction is the same at both. I didn't notice they spent any more (or less) time with us at dinner.

We did breakfast last time and loved it but we're gonna try dinner this time for a change. I've not heard bad reports of either to be honest.

I am interested though - what characters did people have at dinner?

We have been to dinner at CM in the past and booked dinner again for our upcoming trip. The first time we went, my daughter had dietary restrictions and the chef himself came out and made an entire menu just for her and delivered it to the table. It was a wonderful experience. The characters are great at dinner as well. I think you will be very happy with your decision. If you are still wanting breakfast, you can always call back and try to change it. But I do think you will enjoy the dinner seating, just as much as breakfast.

Its a wonderful place for a character meal I'm sure your family will enjoy it. The key will be for your 2yo to be well rested and not irritable. There is a lot of stimulation there:
- 5 Characters
- Huge buffet
- Monorail overhead (yup runs right through Chef Mickey's)
- Music, singing and the napkin waving (my nephew danced with Donald Duck)
- People watching
- Brightly lit

She should really enjoy it, but could be overwhelmed if she's already tired.

We eat dinner at CM every trip....actually about 5 times in 2007.

We always have a great time there.

We just got back yesterday from a great vacation!
We went to Chef Mickeys for dinner on Sunday night. The experience was fantastic! The characters spend alot of time with your family and the food was excellent!

OMG I hated this place for dinner! It was our least favorite out of all out trips! That being said, the character interaction was good and I would love to try breakfast. Out of 4 adults, none of us liked anything they had to eat! We are by no means picky eaters either. We left and went back to the resort and had a burger.

We ate dinner there, food was terrible but the atmosphere was alot of fun

Trying breakfast there in April

your going to get several different opinions about both :rotfl:

1. What do your plans look like that day? So many people try and plan park time around meals instead of meals around park times!

I have found (in the past) dinner has a longer wait to be seated even with ADRS.
If you aren't planning anything for after dinner then it would be fine. If your trying to go from dining to a park to to see a show CM's is not so good for dinner.

Its the same characters usually and the same "type" of food (american, nothing special)

So pick what will work best with your plans for the day

We ate an early dinner at CM's at 4:30 pm before MVMCP this past December. We were seated within 5 mins of arrival. The kids loved it! Plenty of time with the characters--My 18 month old was fascinated by them, couldn't hug and kiss them enough--especially Pluto.

The food was fine. My eldest(10) ate the prime rib, salad bar and mashed potatoes and my 9yr old ate selections from the kids buffet. The dessert bar was a big hit with all of the mini desserts.

We would definitely go again--especially for an early dinner as we beat the crowds.

for dinner, because there are mixed reviews, What did you eat that was good and enjoyable, and what did those who DID NOT enjoy it, eat?

Our family LOVES breakfast AND dinner at Chef Mickey's. So much so that we eat BOTH meals every trip!!

DS9 LOVES the prime rib.

DD13 loves the peel & eat shrimp.

I love the parmesan mashed potatoes (see my TAG :goodvibes ).

DH loves it all.

We love eating at Chef Mickey's for dinner. It is our tradition to eat there for our first night. But, everyone has their own tastes and what one person may love, another person may absolutely dislike it.

My kids are going to LOVE The ice cream sundae bar. (Honest. That's what made me decide on dinner over breakfast!!!)
