Chef Mickey's for Dinner

Has anyone done CM for dinner. Who are the characters and how is the food? We have always done breakfast here but looking for a little change. Any thoughts?

we love chef mickeys , my kids are dd 9 and ds 6 we just returned this past dec, we went 2 times for dinner, they have great food,my favorite place to eat,, enjoy

it's strictly fab five now. i did it once before and loved it. had one of the best servers ever too.

Characters are Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale, and Donald if I remember correctly. Donald doesn't come to the tables, but is available for photos in a common area. CM is a favorite for our grandchildren so we always do it for them They like it, but personally I would just as soon skip it. Not a big fan of buffets anyway. But it's not all that bad or I probably wouldn't keep going back!

Brad's right--no more Chip & Dale.

You'll probably see Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, and Donald. Chip & Dale were there last year, but they're not regulars any longer. The CM told me that when I made ADRs a couple of months ago, and people on these boards have reported the change as well.

Food is typical Disney buffet stuff. Of the 3 buffets we went to last year (CP and Boma being the others), CMs was the least good, but it's the first one my kids all requested we return to. It's fun.

We were just at CM for dinner on 5/11. This was the first night of your trip and I have to say my kids went crazy! DS8 and DD4. Food was good, a lot to choose. The dessert bar was great. It was so much fun. If I remember correctly it was Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald. They all came around to sign autographs and take pictures. The whole atmosphere is FUN. Your kids, and you, will really enjoy it.

We love starting our trip with dinner at Chef Mickey's. It is the "fab five" and lots of good food, awesome desserts!!

Just ate dinner there on May 12.
It was our 6th time there for dinner!!

Chef Mickeys is our traditional first meal in WDW. It's the one and only place my dh insists on eating at...every trip. For some reason he really, really likes the buffet there. It's fine..not haute cuisine though. Plenty of different choices to make everyone happy.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, Chef Mickey's is at the Contemporary Resort, right? Do you have to be staying at that Resort to eat at CM's? And let's say I spend that day in the Magic Kingdom and want to have dinner at CM's(between 6&8 I suppose). What time is suggested to go from MK to CM's?

Sounds like a blast either way. Love character dining, was a major highlight of my vacation, and I'm 16.

Yes, it's located in the Contemporary & no, you don't need to be staying at that resort to eat there.

From the MK, you can get to the Contemporary by walking (allow yourself a good 15 minutes) or by taking the monorail (in which you'll still want 15 minutes).

We always like to get to an ADR 10 minutes early to check in, so then you'd want to allow even more time.

We ate there 2 years ago for dinner. Loved the place, great atmosphere! But we hated the food. This time around we are doing breakfast. I really don't think you can go wrong there.
